James Develin is the man to go to here.

Big bruising blocker, can catch.

Jourdan Brooks *****, and the fact that everyone still wants him is a bit baffling...

Has James Develin been released by the Patriots, and I just missed it? He was called up to their active roster Nov 28th.

Wow, he was with them?

I'm up to date with a lot of the players in the league, but I had no idea he was with them

Jourdan Brooks know the team and the play book, that in itself should be enough reason he should be signed over a guy who has been sitting on his couch eating potato chips. Let's not repeat the Faine mistake again.

Our practice squad should mirror our injuries. We lost Sanu and Binns - we should be developing 2 WRs. We lost Scott, Peerman, and Pressley - we should at least have 2 RBs ready to go. These guys need to be prepared AND used when it is their opportunity rather than going for a street FA like Faine or Connor.

Um, Develin was on a PS, Brooks was the one "eating chips," by that stupid mentality (facepalm)

Nice! "A" practice squad. But not ours. Brooks was let go in November and only been away a team for one month. I was comparing Brooks to another FB we might actually sign rather than a guy who we can't possibly sign in Develin who is already signed to NE's PS. But you go and fight against windmills!

Someone asked if there was any back ups on the PS, so I answered them with a link. Geez, everyone's a smart *** today.

I hate the idea of not having a fullback on the roster. You go 15 weeks running packages with a true fullback in the backfield. If you take a fullback out of the lineup, it just kind of screws everything up. Hopefully they sign another in the next few days if Pressley is indeed out for the season.

We had 7 WR this year they chose to cut the wrong ones.Last night AJ was the ONLY WR with a catch all night.I am a big time Peerman fan but they only gave him 5 touches a game if he was lucky. The Offense was starting to gell and play good together in the 4 game win streak. Then you bring in Cook and Dalton gets happy feet again.

You know we can sign a PS player from another team, right? I believe Develin is actualy on their 53, but you obviously don't know that.

BTW - I don't see much of a need for a FB as the team could use that to expand depth in other areas instead of having an <20 snap per game player with no huge difference in offensive performance with or without the position.

Here's an update on the subject from Bengals.com front page:

John Conner among those possibly being worked out this weekend.

This needs to be solved very quickly. Our running game and protection was not the same after the injury.
First let me say, "I was wrong". The Bengals did not lose to the Eagles. I am glad they won.

The play on which Pressley came up lame was shown clearly on TV. P{ressley was deposited on his arse by a charging D lineman. It was a clean hit but, looked like a man running over a kid. Something must have happened to his knee just before the impact, because he definitely wasn't prepared to take the hit. I hope he recovers completely and soon. However, I suspect IR.

I guess we can shift the conversation with the knowledge that the team is working out fullbacks this weekend.

Question 1: do we sign someone?

Question 2: who should we sign as the best available replacement?
(Does the fact that John Conner is a native of Cincinnati influence anyone's opinion on him?)

Question 3: at this point in the season, do you think signing a new FB will make a major difference either way?

Sorry, I wasn't trying to be smart towards you. It was aimed at the organization. It just boggles my mind that we don't have a back up FB on the roster at all.
