Exactly. You can't compare production because we have two completely different styled offenses. Do I still think we could utilize him a good deal more? yes. But he'll never have Gronk type production (and Gronk wouldn't have near the same production on the Bengals as he does on New England).

Gronk is utilized in the way Gresham should be utilized. Gronk got dealt New England and Tom Brady - Gresham has Dalton and the Bengals. C'mon man.

And eliminate the penalties. If Gresh could put it all together, he'd be elite at TE. What I'm disappointed about is I see the potential, but not the consistent execution. |

Since when do the Patriots sit back and wait for the guys they want on draft day? Its not like it was a big secret who the Bengals wanted, half the country mocked Gresham to the Bengals. Whether you like it or not, Gronk is and probably always be the better TE in ANY scheme. Every expert covering football will say the same. Gronk is like Larry Fitz, could still produce with a crappy QB. |

I'm looking forward to the day where I don't have to bump this thread after a game. STOP HOLDING PEOPLE. BTW anyone catch Mayock (the be all, end all, know all of football knowledge obviously) when he called Gresham a "great blocker"?

The problem with Gresham is the coach. Hayes has not developed a TE since coming to the team. He has been given talented players and they are regressing under his tutilage. I am inclined to think that if anyone flashes, it will be temporary and in spite of the coaching, not because of it.

Most overrated and inconsistent player on our team. Never in my life have I seen a player of that size and athleticism have the guts of a 6 year old girl. His hands are not good. Aside from the Chiefs game he is tackled too easily. He is not proving himself worthy of a first round pick.
And could someone please explain to me why it's taking until Week 15 to see TE screens?

C'Mon people he led the team in yards and receptions against the Eagles. The point is Gresh has been a big time Tight End through three seasons including the fact that his first three years in the league are arguably better than any current NFL TE. As long as he continues to improve his production we should be glad he is a Bengal and damn sure hope he is resigned.

Since we're just oozing with negativity around here today I might as well bump this now so I don't have to do it on Monday.

Gresham is maddening.
There are times when he goes out there and plays like a younger Tony Gonzalez. Unfortunately then Mr. Hyde comes out and he drops critical and catchable balls, fumbles and/or draws his every game holding penalty. What he lacks is CONSISTENCY. Want to know why (before he got hurt) Donald Lee was valuable? Because while he lacked Gresham's physical tools he was reliable - you could trust him to run the route correctly and haul the pass in. If Gresham can achieve consistency he will be a top tier TE; but not until then. |

Gosh, I love the Bengals but the negativity here is >9,000! Can't we just be positive?
