I was complaining to a couple friends at the beginning of the game that we took Herron over Bryce Brown. At the end of the game, I now understand. Go Herron!

Shut up about Herron already. He made a few nice plays, yes, but why is everyone acting like he's the 2nd coming of Steve Tasker and Barry Sanders rolled into one???
I get that 90% of this board are probably Buckeyes homers (remember he's part of the reason we're not playing in a bowl game or even the National Championship), but never in my life have I heard so much chatter about a guy simply doing his job. Nothing more, nothing less.

He turned a loss into a nice little gain near the end of the game too running the ball.

He had at least two big plays on special teams that I saw (and i watched the game on game rewind, so i skip over some special teams)
And he impressed in garbage time. Not saying he should start, but I'm glad we have him and hope to see him again. Looks quicker than BJGE, I hope to see him instead of leonard unless it is 3rd or 4th and long.

Yes, of course I have. Have you payed attention to the last 12 hours on this board, where many people are practically coining him the MVP of the game??

No one has blown Herron out of proportion. The fact is that he has been active in two games and in both has made some impressive special teams plays. He also got a couple of rushes last night and showed more zip than we had been led to expect - doesn't make him CJ2K but he is a bit quicker than advertised.
All in all, he might be a good change of pace back for Law Firm. The question is whether or not he can get to the outside quick enough to let us add outside runs to the repertoire. |

i just don't know why you let stuff like that effect you, just don't open the Herron threads if you don't wanna see people giving props to a player that out performed expectations.

Actually I was pleased with what I saw of him and frankly surprised.

His special teams play has obviously been fantastic. In his limited carries, he flashed. We may picked up a solid player in Boom. Id like to see what he can do in the future.

IDK with Peerman back where does he go. Just signed Conner, will they keep 5 RB's? Lenard is a nothing special, but you hate to cut him now.

We'll keep Herron - the Special Teams play alone mandates it.

I said the kid doesn't have great straight line speed, but is a football player. He will get every inch he can on every play. Some of us, knew Herron would preform when given the chance. You don't average 5+ yards a carry at Ohio State and be trash.

Kid has got a roster spot for now and will not relinquish it if he keeps up the solid efforts.
Welcome to the team Boom.

Herron flashed late in the game avoiding tackles & making plays. I'm not an OSU fan, but he looked pretty good & he isn't afraid to lower his shoulder and hit somebody.

I think signing Connor probably dictates that Pressley will go to IR. The way Herron has flashed on ST's, he may not make it back to the PS. If we are going to drop the axe on somebody, it will probably be either Brown or Nugent.

He's been very limited so far, but you can only go on what he's done and he's looked good out there. Couple of huge plays on special teams, he's ran the ball ok enough. Not bad so far, hopefully he can chip in in these last two games too.

I vote Nugent. I've been loving Brown!

Probably, especially this late in the season. And Boom should be on the active 46-gameday roster from here on out. I also will be fine if Nuge goes to IR and Brown remains as kicker.

I'll be the first to eat crow and have been the hardest on him and the pic in last years draft.
He has been solid in the little time he has been on the field and would love to see him get some touches out of the backfield.

The thing with running backs like quite a few positions, is that it is really hard to know whether a RB coming out of the draft regardless of where they are drafted will be a good or not. RBs are just so hit and miss it seems on making that NFL transition, so who knows how good Herron can really be. I liked the draft pick based on his sophomore season with the Bucks and where he was drafted, but I also wasn't all-in that he was a steal. I just hope he is a steal because this team could use him if he is to pair with Benjarvus.

With the big plays Herron has made on ST's, he should definately be dressing the rest of the year. In AFCN games against the Ravens and Steelers, plays like he's been making can be the difference between a huge W or a season ending defeat. |
