Can someone explain how the Ravens clinched a playoff spot if both The Bengals and the Colts can still end up with a better record than the Ravens? What am I missing here???

They beat pissburg in tiebreakers and they would finish with the same record if pitt won out even if they didn't win a game.

Exactly. They own the tiebreaker over Pitt.

If we have a better record than the Ravens that would mean we win the division, then they would most likely get the 6th seed. In order to have a better record we will have to beat the steelers, which basicaly knocks them out. The Ravens then win the tiebreaker against the jets and they are in.

They would have to own the tiebreaker at 9-7 over Pitt, Cincy and Jets to be already in.

There are two wildcard spots. If Cincinnati and Indianapolis end up with better records, Cincy get's the North, Indy get's the first wildcard, and Baltimore gets the second. Super easy.

All this means is Pitt will be desperate now next week. Hopefully they wilt under the pressure. However, they usually get focused and play their best football. We will need our A+ game next week.

Because there is still one spot left, and they beat pitt and jets with tie-breakers. No one else is in contention. You are talking about spots 4, 5, and 6. They secured the 6 spot.
