My favorite Christmas song is Ray Charles' version of 'That Spirit of Christmas'. There's a few others too, but for me, that's the song to listen to during the holidays.

Hey, does anyone know a website where I can watch How The Grinch Stole Christmas online? The one with Jim Carrey? I don't have the DVD

Now in a completely opposite direction for movies: Christmas Vacation - I have Clark's rant as my ringtone and text alert Bad Santa - Have watched it by myself the last couple of years and this year my wife decided she wanted to watch it and see why I was laughing so hard all the time. Now she gets it. A Christmas Story - Fa Ra Ra Ra Ra, Ra Ra Ra Ra!

I honestly never saw the hub bub about a christmas story. I never understood the huge following it has. Maybe its because the house is located near here explains its popularity in cleveland. But the fact that its played 24 hours straight every xmas on tbs, suggests its popular everywhere.
Dont get me wrong, I will still watch it this xmas mainly because its a christmas movie and I love the season, but its not one of my favorites.

Nightmare Before Christmas - It's the combination of everyone's two favorite holidays!
(don't bother saying Christmas and Halloween aren't your two favorites, I won't believe you) |

I now realize Christmas movies generally stink.
Oh, and can we add Passion of the Christ? It's arguable, but I'm pretty sure it counts as a Christmas movie by default. On second thought, that movie bored the crap out of me, don't add it. Aremaic, what's that about?

Best all time Christmas story is Luke 2. Best all time Christmas movie is A Christmas Carol. All of them an in different ways like Bill Murray in Scrooged or Patrick Stewert in the 1999 version. Albert Finney in I do believe the 1970 version. All adaptations of the story are great. Last edited by Nebuchadnezzar; 12-22-2010 at 07:23 PM. |

I would say my favorite Christmas movie is "A Christmas Carol" with George C. Scott (there are so many of them). My second one is "Jingle All The Way". Arnold is funny.

Was going to start a thread on this, then found this old one.
Christmas vacation and Elf are my two favorites. I laugh non-stop on both of these movies.

I was just going to look for this thread since I'm watching A Christmas Carol right now, lol. Thank you for finding it.
I really do love this movie, all of them except for the one from the 70's with Albert Finney. Although in that one, you actually see Scrouge in Hell forging his chain, which is pretty cool. My favorite one though is the one with Patrick Stewert of Star Trek fame except when he starts his laugh close to the end, that gets on my nerves. Second favorite is the 1938 one with Reginald Owen the the 1984 one with George C. Scott. I also like the cartoons and the movie Scrouged with Bill Murray. Call me crazy, lol. As for my OP, I totally forgot the stories I like best. First is The Christmas Story in Luke, second is of course Dikens A Christmas Carol, third is The Night Before Christmas. I can't think of any more right now, George C Scott is about to see his grave, lol. |

The first one, the criminals called themselves "The Wet Bandits" and the second one they went from that to "The Sticky Bandits" right?
I like the first two, the first one for sure and the one where he's in New York City. |

I think Jimmy Stewart is a great actor. "Well, I've wrestled with reality for thirty- five years, Doctor, and I'm happy to state I finally won." I also like How The Grinch Stole Christmas. The birth of Jesus is the best story.

Yes. The first one was the better one, in my opinion. The second one was still pretty damned sweet though. Home Alone is one of those movies that I see every single December. I dig it.
