I live in Nashville. They're not planning on releasing him.

I'm with you on this! And, it is a very real possibility that this is his last year in Jax.
MJD still has a decent 2-3 years left in the tank. He may not be an elite guy ever again, but definitely still a very solid RB. |

He wants big, elite RB money too. But his case should be evaluated, don't know if he deserves a lot of money, but we know his abilities.

I would say no for the money, he hasn't exactly torn it up, for a lesser price sure but in this league RB's are a dime a dozen

Anybody who is dumb enough to demand to be the highest paid player in the NFL, and then try holding out to get it...

I would give Johnson a larege 1 or 2 year contract.
We are projected to have some $43 million in cap space. I'd rather spend it than let it disappear. |

Plus, they don't really have a good QB or great WR's. Defenses focus on him. BJGE is an afterthought here as defenses key on our passing game with Green and Gresham. That's why a simple stat comparison doesn't work.
AJ Green is going to get double-teamed. Our #2 WR will get a defender. Then defenses have to choose to focus on Gresham or the running back. With CJ2K, they probably key on him which opens things up for Gresham. |

Chris johnson would be a good 3rd down back but wouldnt survive the AFCN as a full time RB.

no way we pay the money johnson wants, but everyone saying chris johnson wouldnt last in the division, we already have our pounder in the BJGE, we want a scat back to compliment that, doesnt get much better than chris johnson, if he gets through that hole goodbye.
The ravens are no longer the hard hitting team that you remember, The steelers still have a good Defense, but these defenses are not legendary no more, they are old and slow, we need speed to hurt them. Chris johnson would be great in stripes, ecspecially with the way the line has been blocking for BJGE latley? you dont think chris johnson could run just as good if not better? we're getting excited from seeing a little bit of burst from herron last week, CJ2K has been victim from a shi**y offense his entire career.

I don't get how he won't survive the AFC North. The Steelers and Ravens have essentially transitioned to offense-first teams.

exactly, and has chris johnson ever been injured? i honestly think we have the most physical defense now. the ravens and steelers are old and slow...

I don't see Johnson lasting in the AFCN.
Yes the Ravens are down, but they will have their LB back next year. The Squeelers are not the Iron Curtain of old, but are rated pretty good. I think Chris Ivory would be a better fit, for the AFCN. He has speed, power, good hands, and good feet. I say putting him with BJGE would extend both of their careers and would make this offense hard to contain. If we deveop a good #2 WR, we become the hardest O to contain in the NFL.

idk how some of you feel about reggie bush, but he has no help in miami, and reggie im sure is going to want to go to a winning team, he'd be a great pair with BJGE.

I completely agree with this. Reggie Bush is #1 on my wish list this offseason.

I just don't see us spending huge money on a RB and wouldn't do it if it were my choice.

Re: Would anyone consider cris johnson?
I personally feel that boom herron could be THAT GUY. i am telling you this guy can motor and has great vision,if he is given the chance.brian lennard should be released and put boom herron in his place.i would love to see a two-back set at times with boom and the law-firm. those two would be a huge asset.we do not need another back until we see what boom can do.i hope they play him more. he just needs the reps. a quality back MUST HAVE REPS.we do not need another back. he is that good if given the chance.not this week as the stoolers are coming after the ball all game.

I would rather put big money in the OL than a RB.
