Well, we would still be ahead of the Steelers by a game with 1 game left.....and it would be better than a loss......but as a Bengal fan, I hope we beat them an go ahead of them 2 games with 1 game left so that we are in play-offs as we walk off the field....Plus, it's always great to beat Pittsburg anyway, no matter the records. ...I don't know about prognosticators and such, but as a Bengals fan, I want a win over Steelers....The great Bengal coach, Forrest Gregg always said, Beat The Steelers. ( and he often did ).

Heart says yes, brain says "prove it".
Steelers- 24 Bengals- 13 The Steelers have always done a good job shutting down our #1 receiver. That's why Housh and Henry used to kill them. Unfortunately, I have very little faith that Marvin Jones can be a big factor. Our run game will be important in this one, but Benji only had 69 yards last time against the Stoolers. As for our defense, we have the best d-line in the NFL, but fat-face is the best in the biz at escaping pressure and making you pay. I definitely think we have a shot, but Marvin Jones or Gresh need to come up BIG.

Re: Bengals vs. Steelers prediction thread
17 13Hard fought game that the refs will keep close. We beat up on Ben enough for him to not want to be in there anymore and we only allow 1 TD on Defense. The Steelers will be fighting for their lives and they know if we win this one we will have major confidence in beating them in the future, hence the low score. But who knows? Dalton, Green and company could also come alive in this game. The Steelers Defense has looked way less than stellar lately and i am just looking for a game where Marvin Jones breaks out. Hopefully it is this one and it won't be this close.

my gut says that the Bengals are going to do it by 2 scores, but my fear of the past is telling me to be leery.
I'm afraid to jinx them....no score prediction from me tonight.

Steelers determine to take away AJ, but without Taylor are forced to commit 2 players, which opens up the running game. Bengals have great success in controlling the clock and moving the ball between the 20's. LeBeau pulls out all the stops in the red zone, but our new kicker continues to be money with 4 FG's.
Our defense throttles their run game and keeps their QB (I won't even mention his name) in the pocket. They manage a single TD and a couple of FG's. Our only TD is something off special teams -- maybe a punt return. In a game eerily similar to the 2009 game, it's: 19 13And 60,000 towel-waving douchebags cry in their Iron City. |

This game comes down to the Gruden, Marv and Dalton. Period. Call the plays to win the dog gone game, D will do it's job, don't throw stupid int's, win the game, get on the bus, go home, bring on BAL. Bengals 24 Steelers 15 |

If we play smart, keep Dalton clean, and get fat jen down, I think we win big.

This game is like an adult diaper: Depends.
Let's be real up front: The Pittsburgh Steelers are playing for their season against the Bengals and if they lose, they are done. The Steelers have an innate ability to rise up and win critical games. There's no secret about it, either: Their coaches and organization have built a high performance machine which performs better as more pressure is applied. To this point at least, the opposite has been true of the Bengals. Cincinnati has a young, highly inexperienced team which plays well but seems to melt a little under the spotlight. Beating the New York Giants in the middle of the season is impressive but it's time the Bengals performed like that when it's crunch time against the Steelers. Make no mistake: This is the biggest game Cincinnati has faced in the Marvin Lewis era. Cincinnati 31 Pittsburgh 20 |

24 20We jump out to a 17-0 lead, then have our classic 3rd quarter slump allowing them to get back in it, but in the end we win 24-20

If we don't tighten up with a lead and let them come back, we'll do fine. Seems like this is the identity of Marvin- play not to lose instead of play to win.

Re: Bengals vs. Steelers prediction thread
I think Pittsburg starts out doubling AJ and their D-line comes out rushing. BJGE takes advantage of this and busts some early big runs. Cincinnati scores a touchdown fairly quickly on the first drive, Gresham with a redzone snag. The Bengals D then comes out and plays tight on Pittsburg's first drive, stuffing the run and allowing a couple short completions. Geno makes his move and gets a good lick on Ben, causing a poor throw and a Nelson interception. Tone of the game is set. Recycle, Repeat.
Cincinnati finally brings it in a do or die game. Bengals-28 Steelers-13 Playoffs await. Cincinnati v. San Fransisco ver.3.0? |

Re: Bengals vs. Steelers prediction thread
As much as I would LOVE to see that happen, I (like many others) know it won't. I do believe the Bengals have a real solid chance at winning this game, but the Squeelers won't go down without a dog fight (don't take that wrong Vick, it was said out of context, not an actual event).

Bengals 31
Steelers 23 I can not see how we lose this game. I think the bengals could very well blow them out. I also dont see how anybody can say we wont score over 20 pts with their injuries on d and how their d has played as of late. We have scored 20+ in all but 3 games. I also think the defense has figured out they can make the plays needed to win a game. I expect a lights out performance by our d.. |

I see this as being a close game until the 4th quarter where fatigue and injuries show up big, If were able to get to Ben throughout the game and slowly punish him It's going to show in the 4th quarter. I see the Bengals pulling away in the 4th after battling their own mistakes all day to stay in it and end up winning 27-17. Scoring the final go ahead touchdown off of a turnover.
