How about some hurry up offense vs the Steelers

I swear when the time Dalton and Co. have gone hurry up he plays at a different level.
we haven't run it in forever and a day. I think we did it vs the Redskins.
The Steelers have some CB's who I think don't have their game legs.
Why not go hurry up?
But we need to come out and out TDs on the board. Not FG's.
you don't beat the Steelers by converting FGs.

We have done it in almost every game for a series or two. I do agree Dalton seems to be comfortable there, but the issue is with the way guys have been dropping balls and Dalton has been missing guys it can put the D in a bad place.

We seem to do it sporadically. They may go no huddle 3 or 4 plays, then all of a sudden end it. Then a series or two later there it is for a couple plays again. I agree we seem to be much more potent when we keep the tempo at a high pace.

If your hurry up is get to the line fast to prevent defensive subs then sit back and call a play then yes. YES (no huddle offense not hurry up)

The steelers will be trying to get their no huddle going again.

I agree.. I like using the no huddle and figure the Steelers will be using it quite often too.

I like the idea, maybe on the second offensive series after the Bengals will surely start the game with their "heavy run" formation. Get that defense on the field, then spread them out and go no huddle. I think more plays= more fatigue for their aging defense. It should also reduce the variables that Dalton has to read as they won't have too much time to change their strategy on D for down and distance.

The biggest point that no one has brought up is that it will keep their aging defense from subbing in fresh guys and keep from allowing them to huddle up and take a breather.

I do think that Dalton needs to be careful not to get caught-up in the moment and try to make bad throws or throws without going through all his reads.

I think it was the Dallas game and Dalton rolled out to the right and tried to throw a guy running a length crossing route, but he kind of stared him down, so the cornerback (I think it was Carr), quit running with his receiver deep and broke on Andy's pass even before he threw it, which he obviously intercepted it.

Now this to me is a good thread about the game.....by all means some hurry up, and some slow down.... some pocket but also some roll out...in other words...this IS a play-off game.....we need to use everything in the book and some things that aren't in the book. Marvin, Gruden and Zimmer need to match up against Tomlin and their defensive mastermind LeBeau.

Bengals have been dominating the 1st quarters, thats not the problem....the problem has been taking their foot off the gas in the 2nd or 3rd quarters....They need to play hard all 4 quarters in a play-off type game.

an I have no problem with field goals and putting points on the board. This game may well be won or lost on a late field goal.

It seems that Dalton does do better in the no huddle. Heck, I remember the Browns game specifically. The offense did little to nothing, then put in the No Huddle and did very well all of a sudden.

Marvin HAS to be aggressive in this game. Don't be conservative. Now, that doesn't mean pass A LOT. But means do no huddle runs, don't be afraid to blitz, heck, do fake punts. Hawkins could be the X factor in this game. Use him on gadget plays. This is the Bengals playoffs. It starts now.

Hurry up offense with a shaky o-line, no WR depth, and against a sol;id Steelers defense? Not to mention a rotation at center...

Getting too cute, especially against a solid team, is a recipe for failure.



Play smart, work the mismatches, and put the defense in a position to tee off on Big Ben.
