I'll say here what I told one of my granddaughters the other day. She was nervous about it, and in one of our conversations, she asked me about it. I told her that it might end, it might not. But at the same time, it's not like we can do anything to stop it if it in fact would, so there's no reason to worry about it. No one here is strong or mighty enough to stop something from happening, so worrying and becoming anxious about it is useless. If it was going to happen, it will happen with or without your blessing.

Mayans calander start and end dates and all predicted events have been 100% accurate (on the predicted events) But what was special about the start date and why it went back 1000s of years before their civilization figuring that our could help us figure out what the end date means...

True, we can't view it with 100% accuracy. Just to put it in context for those who don't know the amount of time in the largest cycle of this calendar system is a bit less than 26,000 years. Exactly how many is a matter of interpretation and can vary by over 100 years.

Important to note: The Mayans didn't design their calendar with a linear concept of time, but a cyclical one. Thus, no ending. Just the beginning of a new cycle. They aren't the only society to have cyclical ideas misinterpreted into our linear ideas.

The only cycle of that length that matches up with the cycle completion date does work with the astrological age concept since what is visible at the solstice point for each rely on precession. I won't bore anyone with the long explanation but it is about the slight wobbling of the earth's axis. But yeah, the completions of cycles do seem to have strong correlation to events in human history. (note, completion and end are not the same in this context.)

If someone knows of some other 26,000 year cycle that could be observed by ancient people looking at the sky (since their whole calendar is based on exactly that), I'd like to hear it, but still haven't

All of the far out predictions have absolutely no connection to the Mayan's, just people who had their own ideas and tried to figure out a way to connect it to that calendar.
