Should Marvin Get Fired If We Lose????

Thankfully it's a question of "should he" not "will he".. because if he doesn't get a playoff win, he should be fired. NO head coach should be able to coach for 10 years on a team with an overall losing record and zero playoff wins.

I haven't looked to make sure, but I can't imagine that's ever happened anywhere else in the history of the NFL.

If Marvin wins a tough December game at Pittsburgh to clinch a playoff spot should he be extended beyond 2013 season?

I would think many would say yes to my question as well.

When Lewis took over the Bengals had 12 consecutive years without a winning record. Only once did they finish at .500. Over that same time period their total record was 55-137. Since he took over he has had only three years under .500 won two division titles and possibly a third this year. Sometimes he gets challenge happy at the wrong time, sometimes he makes bone head calls, but considering Lewis who has to deal with an owner that puts making money over winning games he's done a great job. I will take him over Shula, Coslet and **** LeBeau. The question I have is if he were to be fired, who would we get to replace him?

If we make the playoffs then he can stick around for his last year and see how he does next year. But if we don't make the playoffs this year he should be let go.

Everyone knows he'll be here for a nice long while though, regardless of whether he's successful or not. Not saying I want him fired at the moment, or even if the Bengals lose this week, but it definitely should have happened already.

Zimmer is the man and I don't want him to go anywhere. He'll likely get more offers again this offseason, and it's only a matter of time before he takes one. So, I'm with you....I'd rather have him here as the HC than not here at all.

I would say no. This team is a player or two (and improved qb play) away from being a perennial playoff team. I don't agree with blowing it up at this point.

Worst argument ever. So because the people who came before him ******, we as fans should settle for mediocrity? Marvin Lewis is 77-83-1... why can't we as fans expect and hope for something more and better? Because "Well, at least it's not 12 losing seasons in a row."?? Because that is the worst rational I have ever heard for not trying to improve.

I'm sorry, but as a fan, I want my team to win playoff games, and have back-to-back-to-back winning seasons.... I don't want the team I cheer for to be consistently looked upon as the third best in a division of 4 teams. Is that so bad of a thing to want? 1 Playoff win or fired.

I don't know if he should be fired, but more questions need to be asked about his coaching abilities. I think he is a horrible game day coach, but he has turned around the organization. Is it him or the Brown family finally pulled their heads out of their behinds? We'll never know, but Marvin deserves one more season. He should be gone next year if he loses the big games. This team will be a power house next year.

I've been ready to fire him several times thru the years. But considering where we are at with such a young team & such a bright future, I'd say no. We suffered thru some terrbile years before him & if they would fire him, they better have someone with a big name lined up. As far as Zimmer, man I hate to see him go. But I believe he will be a head man before long. If there is any justice in this world.
