Default Scouting The MAACO Bowl

v.

BOISE ST v. WASHINGTON

3:30 PM ESPN

Jamar Taylor CB

DB with lots of speed and size. Has 5 INTs (1 returned 100 yards) andh 15 PDs the last 2 years. Has the ability to get in the opponents backfield (2.5 sacks, 3.5 TFL). Some sites are listing him as “DB” as there is a thought that he may transition to Safety at the next level.

D.J. Harper RB

Lots of folks wanted Doug Martin (or at least claimed they did in hindsight). Why not take his under-study a few rounds later. Similar body type although, not quite as powerful as The Muscle Hamster; he is much faster. Senior numbers almost exactly the same as Martin's.
Jamar Taylor CB

Desmond Trufant

Might be as close to a “Shutdown” CB as there is this draft. Shutdown the best WR in the nation; Marqise Lee (season low 2 catches, 32 yards . Definitely comes from good stock (2 brothers play in the NFL). Doesn't receive a 1st round grade because he can be a liability in run support at times (although he did have 10 tackles against Oregon St.) He would most likely cost us our 2B if we want him in stripes, but Dre K. and Trufant could be an elite tandem for years to come.

Semisi Tokolahi

Huge DT 6'2” 340. Doesn't really do anything but take up space. Could be an interesting UDFA prospect if we decide to let Sims walk.

Taylor is built pretty good for his size.

Harper would be an intriguing pickup had he not already had 2 ACL surgeries.

Pretty sure that's why some think he should transistion to Safety. Dude also reportedly has 4.4 speed.

I missed a few series because I'm helping clean the whole house, but I liked what I've seen from Trufant today. I think his stock may be on the rise after this bowl game

Got him an INT today. We've spent a 3rd on worse.
