If Baltimore continues to crush the Giants, the Bengals will - barring a miracle - be playing AT New England.
This, in my opinion, is the absolute BEST match up possible for the Bengals (2nd best would be @ Denver) and the absolute worst outcome for the Patriots. - The Bengals just won their 5th road game in a row. They are fine on the road. - New England thrives on Tom Brady and the pass. The Bengals rush the passer better than anyone in the NFL. - The Bengals figured out that Leon Hall can cover most TEs and slot WRs in the league as well as how to use the safeties to limit big plays from TEs. - The NE outside receivers are cover-able by Newman and Jones. They are not particularly big or fast. - Biggest concern: Quick release plays from the slot receivers and RBs. Quick screens and slants. YAC. |

I don't like the idea of losing to the Ravens to only play them again in the playoffs. That didn't go to well with us against the Jets.
Play hard against Baltimore, rest players when appropriate and then play just as hard whom we face in the playoffs.

I don't care who we play, we owe each of them a beating.
Secondly, no do not sit anyone. The team needs that continuity and work, particularly the offense. Marvin Jones showed nicely today, but still needs reps to be able to haul in TDs like the one that was knocked away from him in the endzone today.

If I HAD to pick, I choose Houston.
I say play the starters for the 1st half and then rest them ( a la preseason games) |

If IND beats HOU and NE beats MIA, we play @ Houston

Well that could definitely happen. Aren't the Colts at home?

I'd prefer to play the following, in this order:
1-Colts 2-Ravens 3-Texans 4-NE 5-Denver

Can't the Bengals draw Baltimore if:
Baltimore wins next week AND New England loses next week? |

This is exactly the way that I would want to play them. If only the Giants would have beaten the Ravens, next week we would be playing for the right to host the Colts.

the writer of this article seems to think the Bengals would be 'kryptonite' for the Pats. He makes some good points...

Probably Texans, but that is because I fear Brady and Belichick more-so in a playoff game.

Yes. If this happens, then the Bengals play the Ravens. I'd rather not see it happen this way, though. I want to see them end the season on a high note, then go into Foxboro and take down Belichek, Brady, and the rest of the Pats. It'd be sweet.

Actually, we really don't know where we're heading for the Wild card game. It could be New England. It could be Houston. It could be Denver. It could actually be Baltimore. All scenarios are possible.
But, assuming Denver beats KC and NE beats Miami, it would really come down to Houston or NE. IF Houston beats IND, then we go to NE. IF IND beats Houston (and NE wins), then we go to Houston. |

History would say that the Patriots are a tough opponent in the playoffs, wouldn't you say? And they've been there before. Time and time again. That's why theyre dangerous. Not because I think they're a better team than us.
If our defense is on point and Green Ellis is out for revenge, AJ holds onto the ball and they aren't intimidated by the crowd at Gillette, I think we could come out of there with a win. It always seems that we get the 6 seed and have the tough road to the playoffs, doesn't it? |
