Re: can you break down these 2 sacks
Easy.. bottom one: BJGE fails miserably at picking up the blitz....... top one: not one to be outdone by BJGE, Connor fails even more miserably at picking up the blitz.
Leonard/Pressley would have picked those up like a boss. /end break down

Wrong on the top one- Zietler did a bad job of picking up the late blitz on #94 (Timmons?). Connor did a decent job coming across the formation just wasn't put in a good position to make a block on a free DE. Looks like the line should of slid its protection over to the right

Both are coverage sacks. Look downfield......

I can see on the bottom on that you have 3 lineman blocking two guys, and no check down options.
The top one line slids when they just should of blocked straight up |

A lot of things went bad in the top one. Pittsburgh sets up with 5 men on the LoS, then one of the ILB's also shows blitz, meaning that they're showing bringing six. Woodley on the right side drops into coverage on Gresham. Harrison and Keisel seem to be dropping into zone coverage on the left, but move to contain the run fake to BJGE. Hampton stunts to the right and gets picked up by Andre, however the LDE also goes outside, Gresham is going out in the pattern so he isn't there to block and Connor is late getting accross the formation. Pittsburgh also does another one of it's classic blitzes with both ILB's crossing, which Cook picks up the first man through, but Zeitler gets totally lost and fails to pick the second up. I think Zeitler was fooled by Troy Polamalu, who acted like he was coming on a delayed blitz, but then dropped back in coverage.
The second is another case where the ILB's cross blitz, but both OLB's drop into coverage. Gresham actually winds up blocking the LDE one on one. Andre and Zeitler wind up double teaming the NT. Whit winds up taking the RDE one on one. However, Cook winds up taking the first blitzer, who comes straight into him and follows him to the left side of the formation. Zeitler doesn't recognize the delayed blitzer and stays on his double team, leaving a large gap for the delayed blitzer to come through. BJGE still has a chance to pick the second crossing blitzer up, but whiffs hardcore. So, chalk that up to poor recognition by Zeitler and poor blocking by the Law Firm. |

Dalton had no time to throw
The first one was mostly Zeitler, as Conner had pushed his man to the outside enough to let Dalton step up. The slant by the defensive line helped the Steelers out massively as well. It hurt where the play action was headed. Hell, if it was an actual run play, it would have probably been a nice gain The second one was bad pickup (And a smart blitz), but BJGE had a por angle to reach him because of the play action. While not entirely his fault, Law Firm could have impeded teh LB's path a little more

I'm not sure how the top 1 isn't Andre's fault (or else the Center for calling the wrong blocking). There is an unblocked guy across from Andre Smith, who instead blocks the inside man.

Easy Trevor Robinson wasn't the center.
