He was a lone bright spot at wr last year for the bears, got lost in their new shuffle with Marshall, et al.
If he can be a better slot than what we have, great. Didn't know we had roster room.

Which might explain DreK going on IR.

To be fair to Sanz, he was in Martz's offense last year that likes to utilize the slot. This year they have Tice as OC whose gameplan seems to be to Marshall and Forte and back to Marshall and Forte, and he just disappeared in it. He also took Dre K's spot since he was IR'd today.

We DID have Binns this season, but I can certainly see why you would have missed that exciting show. Guess we are more likely to need a WR in the playoffs than a corner who doesn't play and/or is constantly injured. Strange, no?

This reminds me when Warren Moon called everyone racist for comparing Cam Newton to Vince Young. Don't get angry if someone compares one black player to another if you are going to compare every white player to another. Okay that aside Each player is their own...as far as we know Dane is a poor man's Cecil Shorts in our system.

Good signing but it'll have no impact this year except maybe on special teams cause there's no way he can learn the playbook in time. Next year though if he has a decent camp I'd keep him over Tate. Then again I'd keep a quarter pounder with cheese over Tate so I'm not sure that means anything.

I like the effort and, the fact that he holds on to the ball. |

I am an Ohio State fan so I do like it when the Bengal's pick-up former Buckeye players. Obviously, coming in so late I don't see him making much of an impact this season but I wouldn't mind seeing what he could do next year.
As far as people saying we should have signed Chad again, seriously? I mean I'll admit it, I use to love the guy (that is the one that slept at the stadium and was all about football) but towards the end of his career with us he was more concerned with Twitter than football. Sure, is he or was he the better athlete than Sanzenbacher? Of course. However, this young Bengal's team is much different than the Carson-Chad era. We don't need any diva WRs. There is a reason they are basically extinct in the league now because where ever they are they end up becoming a cancer. |

Why can't people realize that SPECIAL TEAMS is an important part of Football? I'd agree that Chad, T.O. are proven receivers, but they don't contribute to SPECIAL TEAMS. Without another WR, Hawkins & Jones become overworked on SPECIAL TEAMS. If people haven't noticed, the (Mysterious) GM/Coaches have been doing an A++ Job at FA. I'd suggest that everyone just chill and watch the results.

I do not agree with Tate being ahead of Sanzenbacher......i think Tate is riding the pine.......The coaches have had enough of him.

If this was a RB or dlineman, sure they would play. But 4 days isn't enough to learn a route tree and junk. If he's active, just on teams.

Don't underestimate this pick up.
Marvin and Jay understand that in the playoffs, teams will take away AJ and the deep ball. We have to attack teams in the middle of the field on short underneath routes. This will eventually pull the safeties out of cover 2. This is where Dane excels (along with Gresham, and Hawkins). Only problem I see is how quickly can Andy and Dane get on the same page on routes and timing. |

You never know it could be a guy like Dane playing for a job next year that makes a catch that provides a spark that leads to a playoff win. I do remember Sanzenbacher at OSU being a fantastic route runner, & made some unreal vertical grabs. Unlike some receivers on this team he always seems to catch the ball if its in his area. Good postseason pickup IMO
