Not yet.
But he is exactly what the Bengals needed and he came with an extra 3rd round pick. Nothing to not like.

Based on my naked eye, and the numbers at off.com' I think Zeitler is a huge success. As a matter of fact, I can't recall a guard that has impacted a team like Zeitler in their rookie season in recent history. I love his strength at the point of attack and see the tandem of he and Andre Smith as a real force on the right side.
Bobbie Williams? A great guy, a leader, but limited athletically. Zeitler is already a better all- around player than Williams.

Yup. Way higher ceiling. He just needs a season or two to reach it.

Zeitler is still a growing college kid. Another year on the diet and weight program and he'll be a beast.

Bobbie Williams was awesome as a power run blocker and good in pass protection. Zeitler isn't even close to him yet.

ESPN has Yanda beating out Zeitler for best RG in the AFC North.

Re: Is Zeitler already as good as Bobbie Williams was in his prime?
Bobbie was pretty damn good in his prime. Awesome that you are even asking this question so early in Zeit's career. But Bobbie was damn good and Zeit will need a little time to be that good.

Yeah, Bobbie was a great run blocker in his prime, one of the best in the league. I think Zeitler could be just as good at run blocking and even better in pass protection soon though. Best pick of the draft IMHO was Zeitler. And yeah, i agree Bobbie may have been our best FA signing of the last 20 or so years.

Beautiful that we didnt draft DeCastro. We killed 3 birds with that stone. Didnt draft DeCastro, who *****.....drafted a better player at that position, and in dodging the DeCastro bullet we let it gracefully hit our rivals.
Just beautiful The funny thing is Pitt only took him to take him away from us

The way the Steelers' and Eagles' games were going, I think Bobby Williams would have had trouble too. Those two games were nightmares, for the most part, for the Oline.

Not yet. But the way he kinda hit the ground running and the way he moves better than Bobbie ever did, it's only a question of when not if. Here's to hoping he'll be the consummate pro like Bobbie.

The Bengals were probably indifferent between the 2 and knew they could pick up an extra pick and get one. If Decastro was there they may have taken him and been happy. Its hard to say.

Re: Is Zeitler already as good as Bobbie Williams was in his prime?
All I can say is I am glad we took Zeitler instead of DeCastro. He has been solid all season. He will develop over time as all NFL players do. I think he will be a pro bowl caliber player. Did you see what Geno Adkins did to DeCastro on Sunday. He absolutely destroyed him.

Bobbie spent years in Philadelphia developing first. Zeitler is young. But from what I've seen, it seems like Bobbie definitely committed more penalties by way of holding than Zeitler has.
I would say both Rudi Johnson and Cedric Benson benefitted greatly running behind Bobbie. |

I'll say he gets fewer penalties than Bobbie

Geno terrorizes "finesse" style Guards because he has so much power in his bull rush.

People may have a bias since he's now a Steeler, but statistics say he'll be good. |
