Default BEST Movies of 2012:
I haven't been very active in watching movies this year but I'd like to catch up on the good ones since it's that time of year and all where there's not much to do outside.

So list movies you liked well enough to either own or see again. Feel free to share a summary of the plot or whatever you feel necessary!

Prometheus

People were split on this one. If you're a sci fi fan, and more specifically a fan of the "Alien" franchise, you'll love it. If not, then you should probably skip this one. It's definitely a lot deeper than your average action sci fi film.

For the most part movies are a matter of taste, so a lot of you may not care for this movie, but you can't sat it was poorly directed, acted, or written.

Maybe I have messed up taste in movies, because lots of people seem to have liked Lincoln. I fell asleep on it once or twice before walking out 2/3 of the way through to do some Christmas shopping. They should have called it "Passing Amendment 13."

I saw this movie on yahoo's top 25 list for 2012. Think I'll give it a try.

They also had Django Unchained, Argo, Skyfall, and Zero Dark 30 which all looked like I may have to tryout too.

Lincoln and Argo are probably going to to the list.

Haven't seen Django Unchained, and I don't think it will be released in Brazil....but I love Tarantino and will have to find some way to watch it.

In addition to what has already been suggested...

Cabin in the Woods - Horror movie in the woods. Really can't say anything else about it without completely ruining the movie. Just have to trust me here! Probably in my top 10 movies ever.

The Avengers - Comic book smashup goodness.

Chronicle - Kind of a superhero origin story with the shaky handheld camera filming style (Paranormal Activity, Cloverfield, etc...)

Dark Knight Rises - A movie about Hines Ward returning kicks for TD's, with a subtle Batman story in the background.

Cabin in the Woods is a love or hate movie. You either love it or you hate it. Very little middle ground.

While parts of The Dark Knight Rises were good, there was just as much that was horrid about it. I think that will keep it as an honorable mention on lists or keep it off entirely.
