Does anyone know the formula on what games will be what day; or is it just whatever games they think will garner the most views during that slot, in other words $$$? I'm off every Sunday but work Saturdays so I need to get it figured out as soon as possible!
![]() Also, so this won't just be a wasted couple answer thread is there any advantage playing on Sat or Sunday? I would think Sunday as it allows a normal routine.

I was going to post this days ago but I dont have the ability to make threads :(
That said, I feel like Tom Brady might get us a Saturday game, with Saturday night going to RGIII and the Skins if they get in or the Cowboys vs. the Seahawks. |

I just hope the game is saturday being in the time zone I am in.. I know I can speak for others in europe, as well as our buddy that post regularly here from Afghanistan, that we would all prefer a saturday game!

Really surprised more people arent talking about this. I just don't want us to have the last game of the weekend on Sunday. I hate that slot

We will know just after the Sunday night game this weekend. If it is New England, I would think they play at either 8:00 Saturday or 1:00 Sunday.

I cant remember if the 3rd and 6th seeds go on staturday every year( to give the high seeds more time to rest)
or if it rotates year to year...... Havent been to the playoffs 2x in a row to ever take notice. Edit if what im seeing is True this year the 4th and 5th seeds will play on saturday like in 2010 the 3rd and 6th seeds on sunday.

They don't rotate the games. They look for the best fit especially $$$$. But because the Dallas vs Redskins game is on Sunday night, look for that winner to play Sunday at 4:00 against most likely Seattle.
Which leaves an AFC match at Sunday at 1:00 or Saturday 4:00 or 8:00. Since the Pats are playing at 4PM, the league may have the decency to make them play Sunday at 1:00, but most of the time I see the Pats playing the 8:00 games on Saturday.

At least the last two times the bengals have been in the playoffs, they have been the very first game and thus the very first team eliminated. It's like we were out and forgotten before he playoffs even began.

Last year, the Bengals-Texans game was the first one all weekend. It was played at 11am on Saturday.
Whether the game is played on Sat or Sun I have already arranged to go to my friend Sean's house to watch it so I keep out of trouble. Last year I broke my wrist during halftime. |

With San Fran and Seattle in the playoffs, and the NFL wanting to capitalize on viewership, I suspect the NFC will get the evening games.
New England will most likely be Sunday afternoon, and since I don't think that New England is a probable opponent (Houston and Baltimore are more likely), I think we're going to be first on Saturday. Which is fine by me.

in 2011 both the 3-6 seed games happened on saturday that sounds like a rotation to me. Its the weekend the viewership will be there no matter the time slot or day.

For example, In 2009 the Bengals-Jets were a 4-5 and played on Saturday. The Cowboys-Eagles were a 3-6 and also played Saturday. |

The only thing we know for sure is that the 49'ers won't be playing the 1pm game on Sunday.
My prediction: Saturday: Redskins/Seahawks at 4pm, Colts/Ravens at 8pm Sunday: Bengals/Patriots at 1pm, Vikings/49'ers at 4pm

Redskins play Dallas THIS Sunday night. They won't have them play Saturday at 4PM. Plus FOX TV is already mad at losing the Dallas vs Redskins game and the Saturday games go to NBC.

There is NO rotation!!!! Everything has to do with how many west coast/east coast teams are in the playoffs and negotiations between TV[NBC, CBS and FOX] and the league.
