Anyone else feel like there's no MUST HAVE player this year? Last year there was Andrew Luck, RGIII, year before that was Cam Newton. Terrible class for RBs, QBs, and LBs.
Seem's to be a pretty weak class compared to the past few. Maybe it's just me.... ![]() |

-No safetys are worth a 1st or 2nd imo. -Defensive Ends are weak besides Werner -No RB is worth a 1st. Bernard is decent, Ellington is alright, & Le'Veon Bell is alright. -LB's- Ogletree isn't bad in the 1st or 2nd. I wouldn't take any other LB except Mosley but he's returning to school. A qb i do like is Zac Dysert out of Miami (OH)..He's projected 2nd round.

Agreed 100%. I would love to use either our first or early second in a trade back that gets us an extra first in 2014. Wouldn't mind using our picks to acquire proven NFL talent either, instead of having a ton of picks from this class.

It's a very weak draft for QBs, but overall it's a solid draft.

I think there is no "elite" talent in this draft class like there was last year with Luck, RGIII, Trent, and Kalil (good thing we are not picking at the top of the draft). But there is a lot of depth at DL and OL. The weakest part of this class is prolly RB while the safety class could net some good players such as Vaccaro, Elam and Jefferson. The weakness of this draft creates a situation where someone picking 9-11 will get the same value as someone pick 20-25.
The QB's in this draft class is atrocious though and I feel bad for QB needy teams. The best QB in my opinion is Mike Glennon of NC State. Who I feel is a late first prospect. |

This is a good year if you need a OLine or Dline player, everywhere else is weak.

Totally disagree. I think it's very deep, especially at positions we need like safety, LB, RB, and WR

RB: No first round guys mostly because of the injury to Lattimore, but fairly deep with "good" backs. FB: A couple of good ones. TE: Good draft for TEs. WR: Solid draft. No Green/Jones, but several good players. OT: Good OG: Great draft for guards C: Solid DE: Solid with a couple of really good ones and a few athletic projects. A few good 3-4 OLB types too. DT/NT: VERY good DT draft. OLB: Solid. MLB: Good. CB: A couple of really good ones, and very deep. Not as much speed as I would like though. S Good draft for safeties. No one at the top of the draft, but pretty solid. The only things this draft really lacks are franchise QBs and top end RBs.

Do you remember last year's WR class or the year before? There were WR's we were debating on picking up that ended up on team's PS's, and they're good prospects mostly. LB is thin, and RB is deep, but no one until round 2 grade really, which diminishes the quality. Jarvis Jones is a hit away from being unable to play, and Te'o--while decorated--is not as dominant as Kuechley or some of the LBs selected in recent years. Safety is deep, but not as talented up top as 2010. DT is definitely nice, too bad we're set! DE isn't bad this year, either. Not any real top 10 can't miss talents...don't think Moore or The Germanator are there for sure, but they're definitely borderline. OL is yet to be determined. These guys shoot up more than anyone sometimes. Overall, unless you're Star Lotulelei or either Tackle from TAMU, you're not a sure thing.

I don't think it's too much different than some of the recent drafts.
Most drafts will have 3-6 "elite" guys and then a bunch of first round/second round types. This one may be a little light on the elite guys, but there is a ton of depth at DE and DT. |

I feel bad for Jax and KC. They're wasting a terrible season at the worst time.

Couple good guards..I think Safety is the weakest class of all to be honest. I like Werner & Dion Jordan at DE & i havent really looked at any DT's since we have 2 guys that are on the come up..(Thompson, Still)

I think OL, DT, S are the strongest

Maybe not. With no elite QB prospect they can address another need early and then come back early 2nd and get a Tyler Wison, Glennon, or Bray type

Every year we hear the "this draft class is weak" blah blah blah.
Just because there is no clear front runner just means its balanced at the beginning. For some reason people put the whole stock of the draft in the first 3 picks. Around this time last year mock drafts had RGIII as a 7th round pick.... but his heisman skyrocketed his popularity. And it will happen again this year like every year. Right now i'm liking kenny vacarro for our first rd pick unless there is a top of the line LB sitting there. Ive never been a big rb in the first round fan unless its a Trent richardson, mjd, or AP type player. and even thats a risk at the top.

The safety class this year is one of the stronger in recent years. DE is one of the least of our needs, and to me shouldnt be addressed in the first unless something ****ing crazy happens and they drop to us.

Like others have said, there aren't many "elite" prospects.
In fact, Joeckel may be the only one IMO. (Star, Jones, and Warmack aren't far behind though). The main reason this class is viewed as weak is that the big name positions of QB, WR, and HB don't really have many 1st round value guys.

You guys might be right though. I should have worded it differently. I don't mean it's a particularly "weak class", it just seems to be weak in skill positions like QB and RB. Especially where we're drafting right now (18-25) there's no must have guy for us.

Alex Smith has got to be smiling. With no RGIII or Luck, the FA QB price goes up.
I'm reserving judgment on the WR class until the combine. Then we'll see if a Julio Jones or a Stephen Hill steps out from the crowd with eye-popping numbers. Ditto for RB. |

The draft class is fine for the Bengals needs.
