I highly doubt that would work. When teams give up a pick and get no picks for that year in return they usually get a pick earlier than the original one they gave up for the following year.

Nobody is going to rent us a 3rd round pick for just a 6th as compensation.

because it is beyond ridiculous to think a team would just throw away picks without nothing in return. SF gains nothing for 2013. Teams don't do that.
They may throw away a player and contract for something but no team will give up a 3rd for nothing

well we have plenty of picks this year as well once we get those comp picks. It's not like they couldn't make a deal work. Hell we could give them Tate and a pick possibly.

I would rather be on the side stock piling picks than the one giving up a lot to get one pick.

Like you said when we get the comp picks we could end up with maybe 10 total picks this year.

Preferably we keep the majority of this team together and our late round picks have a huge battle on their hands to even make the roster.
