I think Bengals pull it out as well. As much as I hated his play last year in the playoffs, Crocker needs to be healthy for them to help pull this off. He did come out already and say he'll be ready to play, which is awesome.

The Texans' Message Boards are exploding with fans venting their fear of how bad Houston is going to get destroyed by Cincinnati next week. Their fans already want Gary Kubiak fired and Matt Schaub benched in favor of TJ Yates. Some fans are sarcastically predicting that the Bengals will score 100 points because the Texans' defense has been stinky of late.

I had to go see it for myself. Wow. It's really hard to understand the negativity going on there. The Texans are a 12-4 team with a solid QB, a good running back, an elite receiver and an acceptable defense. It's like the end of the world over there on that board. Bizarre.

That's the truth. In the Texans' fans defense, their frustration is justified given that the Minnesota Vikings and Indianapolis Colts basically spanked them into submission. If I were were Marvin Lewis I would be preparing the Bengals to absolutely punch Houston right in the chops on the first defensive play of the game. Also, Cincinnati needs a designed gadget play to run on the first offensive possession like the Mohamed Sanu-to-AJ Green pass against the Redskins. The big idea is to take the Texans' crowd out of the game as early as possible because Houston doesn't have the ability to come from behind.

I certainly wish I could believe that. You'll just have to forgive me for not wanting to get my hopes up only to have them dashed.

Last time I had hope, #9 got his knee destroyed and the Steelers won a Super Bowl because of it.

Don't get me wrong - they go down to Houston and win, I'm going to start believing for the first time in a long time. Not for a Super Bowl this year, but the future will finally have a ray of light for me. I just can't force myself to say this game is a certainty.

I totally agree on the need to strike quickly. If the Bengals come out slowly with a dink and dunk offense or are too run heavy that will be a severe coaching mistake. When a team is struggling and they are on the ropes, you've got to go hard.

Maybe some of the fan behavior on that board can also be chalked up to them being a recent expansion franchise.

Dude, I felt exactly the same as this. The last time I actually had some legitimate hope for the Bengals was in 2005. 2009 and 2011 didn't do anything for me. This season has me believing a little bit more. 7 wins of the last 8 with the one loss coming by a single point. Sure they've had some troubles, and they definitely have spots on the team where they can improve. But with this top Defense and servicable Offense, I see no reason why they don't go into Houston and "steal" a win from a faltering team...

Six days, and you can say.....Johnny Cupcakes.....I believe now.

Why is hurts so much more this year.....had very little confidence in last years playoff game, but this year was different. (For me at least)
