The Defense needs a better SS, MLB, and WLB.

We have three early picks, the first round, and two in the second.
We should be able to fill all three of those with the best player avalible at that possition, unless someone drops who is such as steal we can't let him pass.

If we fill those spots with quality players, then we are the best team in the AFC talent wise.
As for the needs at LG, I wonder if Wharton gets a crack at it. I'm not sure if they keep him around or not, but he's still under contract. If so, then there could be some real camp battles along the interior line. Not really sure that's a good thing.

I also feel like SLB is a bigger need than WLB if they can bring Howard back.

I'm pretty sure it rotates the other direction.

No thanks to trading up for Te'o. Should be some great talent waiting for us though

Most guys on here are too new to know the story behind that.

Mike Brown said O linemen were like pawns, you could just plug and play them.

I think we need to improve two places on O line. Draft a OC, Cook is not the answer, and I like Robinson, but think we can do better.
We also need a better LG. Wharton is not it, and neither is Boling. That, or playing next to Cook makes Boling look bad for the last three weeks.

I think we would be better giving the O line to someone else. Alexander is not the answer to our problems.

Ah yeah just looked it up. You are correct. So we will have the 5th pick in the 2nd round.

Are you sure this is true? Detroit and Philly also had 4 win seasons so are you sure how the tie breakers pan out?

This. As much as I want a bad arse MLB, I think the best thing for this team is an awesome RB. If there's a way to make that happen in the draft then do that. And I think we can take a shot with the picks we have at landing a dynamic RB just sitting pat.

Mmmm I just hope they continue to draft as they have been the last few years. Because we have been slamming it

We will need to keep doing what we do and take bpa.

all levels of defense will be drafted I am sure. we will address some offense also. But wouldnt be surprised to see defense will be the bulk of it though

2 of the top 37 best players sounds great to me, especially considering every QB taken gets us a better position player

I think both LB and S are higher priories than DE. But the most critical need HAS to be RB. Not just one but rebuild the ENTIRE running corp. If you get past Green-Ellis, the pantry is bare, and GE is more solid than a real star. We have NO speed/slasher type, no major threat rxing out of the backfield, a FB offering any O tools to help A.J. I think the running game is the single biggest weakness on this team. Both Pit and Bal are better running teams, and to have a shot to win the AFC North year after year, a good D and running game is critical.

OK, I'll have to agree. What'd you say we sign Reggie Bush in free agency + draft Montee Ball with this particular pick? Problem solved??

Agree with this. Except, think we can get that RB in the second and still land that bad arse LB you covet.

Would also bundle some later picks and try to land another 1st or 2nd round pick. Agree with MCC as well, that this season quality picks are much better suited for us than quantity.

Just think, the Bengals will be picking 32nd and 35th.

Yes, trade both away to move up and get the best player available.

I love the guy, but it isn't the bengals M.O. To trade up picks. He could slide a little due to the position, but I see the Bengals going after a DE and safety early, as well as a RB.

Trade 2 starters for 1?

Ill take the 2 Ill wait to see what Free Agency brings before planning trades that might not be needed.

Think we should keep pick #32 and #35, plus SB trophy and bundle some later picks to move up into the first.

Some of these early pick teams need quantity. But think in lieu of quantity, the Bengals need quality. Two 1st rounders and two 2nd rounders would do wonders for us.

Better off to sign Chris Ivory via FA, or Pierre Thomas if available, then select another RB in the draft. Both are better RB's than Mark Ingram, but the Saints are blind to it, probably because they wasted a 1st rounder on Ingram when their RB pantry was full. Bush will want too much, and he's not worth it. Better to spend the saved money to re-sign Andre Smith or possibly Michael Johnson.

I disagree.

It seems to me that there is a shallow pool of elite talent in the 2013 draft. After the elite talent, there is a rather deep pool of very good players.

To me, I would prefer to have an extra (extra) 2nd rounder and an extra 3rd rounder by trading back.

2a -Okafor DE (trade back with Chiefs)
2b - Bernard RB (Oakland)
2c- Jefferson - SS (Bengal pick)
3a - LB - Kevin Reddick (Chiefs pick)
3b - WR - Stedman Baily WR (Bengals pick)
4 - Kenjon Barner RB

Drafting late first this year is no different than early 2nd.
Very tight bunching of players. No one separated from the pack. Lot's of comparable talent.

Better LB's available in the 3rd besides Reddick, I like the other picks tho.
