Default Scouting The Outback Bowl

JAN 1st, 1:00 PM, ESPN

v.

USC

DJ SWEARINGER/FS

Hard hitting safety that is always around the ball. Cover skills maybe among the best of any safety in the Nation. Destined to be a Bengal: twitter handle is jungleboi_swag.

UM

DENARD ROBINSON/?

Kid has been projected as a QB, RB, WR, and CB. Bottom line is the kid is talented and whereever he lines up he will be an asset.

What conference are these officials from? Never seen a blown measurement before. Clowney took care of it though.

Unless he gets in trouble big time, can't see much changing it.

He could get hurt.

He could have a bad year.

A QB could have a breakout season.

No, he couldn't.

Yeah, it's likely he will be the #1 pick, but it's not a sure thing.

Neither is saying he won't make it to 32.
But you seem fine with that sure thing.

He would have to have a really serious injury, or they would have to discover a degenerative medical condition for him to fall to 32.

It is not unreasonable for a QB to have a break out season. If you are picking #1 you have a lot of needs, but in today's NFL if you don't have a franchise QB you draft one.

I think it is FAR more likely that he is drafted 2nd or 3rd then 32nd.

Nothing is a "sure thing" 16 months out.

If everything stays the way it is right now the next 16 months, then he most likely will be the #1 pick. It would take something catastrophic for him to fall out of the top 10. But it's not unrealistic to think a QB could break out and make himself the #1 pick.

Who thought Cam Newton would go #1 in January of 2010?
