![]() JAN 2nd, 2013, 8:30 PM, ESPN v. ![]() MATT ELAM/SS ![]() Play making Safety that that is always around the ball. Comes into the game with 65 tackles (10 TFL), 1 sack, and 4 INTs on the season. Good bloodlines; brother has played Safety in the NFL for 7 years. Many suggest he goes for the big hit instead of wrapping up; however, NEPD.com has called him “the best form tackler in America”. MIKE GILLISLEE/RB First Gator back to rush for over 1,000 yards in 8 years. Comes into the game with 1,104 yards (4.7 YPC) with 10 TDs. Chipped in another 146 yards receiving out of the backfield with a TD. Quiet guy that receives praise for his team first attitude. Rushed for 146 and 140 yards against 2 of the best defenses in the country (LSU, FSU) ADRIAN BUSHELL/CB ![]() Comes into the game with 59 tackles, 1 INT, and 11 PDs on the season. He was once dubbed to be the next Joe Haden when he signed with UF, things didn’t work out at Florida and he reunited with his old D coordinator (Charlie Strong) at Louisville. Skilled kick returner MARIO BENAVIDES/OC ![]() 4 year starter for Louisville and has started 46 of the last 50 games. Recently shed over 20 pounds to improve his agility in order to be able to play better in space and be more helpful to his mobile QB. |

This game will also feature the one guy to threaten Clowney as the #1 overall pick.
Teddy Bridgewater.

I'm not a fan of the Gators but I do like both of those young players.

And even then he will really need to step it up to beat out Clowney. But he is going to be the guy.

I think Braxton Miller will have a better chance of winning it over Bridgewater just because he is on an Ohio State team coming off an undefeated year. I think Bridgewater is the better pro prospect by far, but if the Buckeyes are in the hunt for the national title look for Miller to be pushed as the Heisman winner.

It isn't about Heisman. It is about the #1 overall pick.

HAHA your right for some reason I transposed Heisman and #1 pick. I was talking to a guy at lunch about Clowney actually having a chance at the Heisman and for some reason it carried over here. I think Clowney is the far and away #1 pick next year unless he suffers a career altering injury and even then he may be a top 10.

Folks get wrapped up in the prospects on Georgia's D. I'd say UF has arguably as many good prospects and definately a better overall D.

I think UGA has better talent but UF is much better coached.

also have seen now that they have a center, Jonotthan Harrison, who could be drafted. And their kicker is Caleb Sturgis who was 3rd team all american...Florida is loaded with prospects.

Elam is a stud at SS and Gillislee is underrated imo. I've watched and rooted against both to many times, only to hear their names being called over and over again for making plays when it mattered.

A matchup of one team that can't pass and one team that can't run.
Bridgewater is picking them apart. |

I may be the only one in the country that actually picked Louisville to win this game.
Just had a hunch that UF would take them lightly and they have. Nobody gave Louisville a shot which is crazy considering half of the teams roster is from the state and C.Strong coached there. I hope that they can hold on in the second half. Bostic should have already been ejected twice!

Elam still isn't wrapping, but hitting. Even Spiels says that won't work in the NFL.

Did Spiels say anything good about him; like how he wrapped up on the last tackle? WTS Gilislee has cost himself some money tonight Last edited by bfine32; 01-02-2013 at 11:06 PM. |

Can't judge these young men on this game. All anyone heard about leading up to this game was how Florida would be dominant tonight.
The only band anyone seen was Florida's. Tebow on the pregame with the heads that all predicted a Florida blowout. Only coverage that the Cardinal got was of Bridgewaters mom and her cancer. This game had the upset written all over it. Elam and Gillislee are both better than they have shown tonight. It's a glorious night of football at my house.Favorite bowl game by far for me. Now if ND can beat Bama I will be overjoyed. I live in the south and I am very tired of having to listen to the SEC fans for the past few years. They began to carry themselves with an aire of invincibility. They have earned this beat down! The Florida kids and coach have been in shock since the first TD.
