We could have signed Loft on late in free agency for what I consider to be a reasonable contract for a talented MLB.

Curry is the same as Derrick Harvey...a bust. Curry has proved that for 4 years. 4!

Why not use our cap space and actually upgrade?
Curry has been in the league for 5 years already? I thought he was much younger than that.

I think it would be interesting if our LB corps were Burfict, Curry and Mcclain. I said interesting, not ideal.

I think it was Reedy who speculated that Curry's visit was a "look for an off-season signing" and not to fill an immediate need so he could end up in camp next year.

Regardless, I think we need to get a great LB prospect in the draft.

Maybe we could bring him in on the cheap and plug him in at OLB, move Burfict inside and have Howard/Lawson/Vinnie Rey on the other side(or Maualuga,if resigned).. Just seeing what you guys think.

Go BENGALS beat texans
Better idea. ...

Do not re-sign Lawson. Vinny is and has been zero impact other than special teams. Do not re-sign Rey.

Burfict to the middle. Re-sign our best three down LB on the weakside ....Howard. instead of bringing in Curry who is still a FA for some reason draft Chase Thomas to start on the strongside.

Actually 4 full years...next year will be his 5th.

I wonder if Howard will be ready to play in camp?

I love Ogletree from Georgia. I think he could be a real good NFL player.
forgot all about lemur, and he's played quite well for us.. I've noticed a few mock drafts/analysts who have said we'd go with Alec Ogletree, and I have no problems with that. I think he'll be a stud. I just think we need to somehow upgrade at LB outside of Burfict and Howard. Maualuga has come on strong lately but his first 3 years have been somewhat disappointing compared to what I was expecting out of USC....

I think the injury really crippled his progression. He also put on weight, I would keep him to have him compete for his job and in all honesty he would be a very solid back up if injuries occurred. I do have to agree with his inability to meet the expectations from draft day.

If Howard comes back then I don't see why we'd want to look at someone like Curry. With players like Adam Jones he's shown the talent in the past but other things have derailed him which led to us picking him up. Gilberry and Hawkins were players that came in on the fringes of teams and either didn't get the reps to show their skills or lost out in a numbers game.

Curry was drafted to be a starter from day 1 and had ample opportunity to do so. He's been a complete bust.

If we have Howard, Maualuga, Burfict, Skuta, Lamur and maybe a good draft pick (Ogletree being the name banded around a lot) I don't see the need to worry about someone like this.

Oh, and Maualuga will most likely be back in the MLB spot next season.

With Ray Lewis retiring, what about hiring him to be the Bengals Linebackers Coach?

Teach Burfict how to play the game.

Have to agree, the only way Rey isn't here next year is if he maybe gets in trouble. How about one of you locals take one for the team and start a fight with him in public.

Just don't move too fast, run straight at him, or do a spin move, he might miss when he tries to hit you.

Really OLB is a place where we need some new talent, unless they could find another guy like Howard, a draft pick seems like the best idea. I really like Dion Jordan as a SLB/Rush guy.

If anything we can bring him to camp next year..

But for a top 5 pick that got bounced for a 7th rounder and then bounced off a dismal raiders team...

I think he has a injurey problem.. But camp next year is the place to check that out

That what will be best for the Team...

Hes a decent MLB and we dont have a replacement... Vontaze is better suited for WILL backer.

I don't see how the Bengals will be able to move up and get Jarvis Jones. I would be down for it, just not sure how they would do it.

It cost a lot more to move up now with the rookie wage scale those top picks are pure discounted gold.

Yup, I am sure an upgrade will become available in free agency that would cost less in the long run.

Also, liked Burfict in the OLB position. He was never really that good at coverage, but definitely attacks the ball-carrier. For an UDFA, he has played very well.

Lawson is old, and I haven't really seen him impact a game. Mauauluga has played better during the 2nd half of the season, but he's still not that great. Howard is coming off an injury, and is also going to be 30 this offseason.

I say bring him in and try him out. What's the worst that can happen? He doesn't look good during his workouts? Best that can happen? He turns into an inspirational player that shows you can overcome adversity, and does well on the Bengals team.
