JAN 3rd, 8:30 PM, ESPN v. ![]() OU DION JORDAN/OLB ![]() The DE-OLB hybrid that Marvin covets. Enters tonight’s game with 44 tackles, 10.5 TFL, 5 sacks, and 3 FFs. At 6’6”, 245 pounds he has lined up in the slot and covered WRs. Entered school as a TE and only switched to defense in 2010. KENJON BARNER/RB ![]() Back with decent size and great speed. 5’ 11”, 192 pounds with 4.3 speed. Comes into tonight’s game with 1624 yards rushing and 21 TDs. Asset receiving out of the backfield: 232 yards and 1 TD. If he gets 189 all purpose yards tonight (a feat he has already accomplished 4 times this year) and he will leave the program as its All-Time leader. KSU ARTHUR BROWN/MLB Undersized LB that excels in pass coverage. Comes into the game as the team leader in tackles with 91 (6 TFL). Also has 1 sack, 2 INTs, and 4 PDs. Started his collegiate career at The U, but never fit in. Has excelled on the field ever since he returned to Kansas. CHRIS HARPER/WR ![]() Numbers don't pop off the chart because K-State has a FB playing QB. When called upon though Harper can but up big time numbers (11 catches for 123 yards when forced into a shoot out with Baylor). Dude is BIG 6'1" 230 lbs; however, he has 4.4 speed. Excels at taking the top off the D. Has a catch of at least 20 yards in every game this year except 1 (30+ in half his games). Kid is an athlete, played QB at Oregon as a true Freshman. |

Barner and Jordan I will definitely be watching.
I'm not sure how I feel about Harper. I will probably have a better insight on him during the combine and such

I have a thread about the some of the other less know K-State players but these are the four guys that I would have no problem if they all were in strips this April.
Like Bfine stated Harper is big but can get deep, maybe a big faster ARZ years Boldin? His numbers were also not as good, TD wise, because in the redzone/goal line it was all Klien. Dion Jordan has M. Lewis written all over him, can rush, cover the slot/TE, and if this guy came via the first I'd be happy. K.Barner is the type of guy that this offense does needs period. Keep an eye on the KSU FB as well, might be worth a look. How about 1st D.Jordan 2nd Lacy 2nd A.Brown 3rd Barner 4th Harper Last edited by D's Nuts and Bolts; 01-03-2013 at 02:13 PM. |

If these four are our draft, I will be stoked and never question our draft day strategy again.

Jordan is a specimen. Pac 10 fans you think this guy can play SAM in a 4-3?

I believe so. He plays in an offense driven conference and is a great defender. He does have quiet moments in games, but that's because there's not much else in the Oregon front 7 and he gets a lot of attention. He could do some damage playing behind our DL.

I guess what I really want to know is the difference between Kenjon Barner and LaMichael James?
James doesnt seem like he has worked out in San Fran. That may be because of Gore or what not but they seem to be the same exact player. Does Barner translate to the NFL better? |

Barnett isn't as fast, but he has vision. LMJ would just run straight through the holes. Barner will look to see if he has to cut in or out. Also he started off as a DB at Oregon then made the move to offense so he has very good awareness. He also doesn't have the injury history like LMJ. So I'd be thrilled if we landed Barner.

Isn't he about the same size as K Greene?

Roughly but with how the NFL is such a pass happy league, guys who can cover like Greene and Brown will go higher.
Greene could go late first-early second and I think Brown is in the same area. Really like both guys the more I watch them.

Yeah I think Greene will go in the late 1st as well. If we don't draft him I bet Belichick will.

I was not impressed last time I saw Brown. I think Greene is on a whole other level. I'd be very upset with Brown in the first.

I doubt Bill is in the market for a LB. Mayo, Hightower and Spikes are all recent high picks who fit in with his new hybrid 4-3

Yeah I think Greene is about the only player I'd like for us to take with the oakland pick. I'd like to have Sean Porter or Hodges later on as well.

Kyle Long Oregon OL #74 6'7" 312lbs
Father Howie Long (HoFer) and brother Chris Long (2nd overall pick in 08 draft) both said Kyle was blessed with the most natural talent of the three. Started college at FSU playing baseball. DUI and addiction ruined that. So there are some character flags. Transferred to Oregon this year from Saddleback and has made an impact in his first year. Raw and inexperienced but has a boat load of upside. NCAA didn't grant him an extra year of eligibility so he will be available. I've seen mixed grades on him. Worth a look in mid rounds but he could go earlier than I expect. |

Hope marv and gruden are watching this barner. If we can get him and another nice lb and safety in draft, watch the f*** out. Bengals will be good for awhile. Honestly, my confidence on drafting has been pretty high and we dont need much. People may get mad if we end up letting a decent player go, but we willl replace them. We are ahead in that game right now.
