Our defense does have some weak spots....but doesn't even come close to our short comings on offense.
The defense gave up only 19 points to a pretty good team....that should usually get a win. The best adjective to describe our offense is IMPOTENT! Like a flaccid......well, you know. Anyone notice the difference between the offensive lines in this game?! Whether it is a problem at Center (yeah..) or elsewhere...that needs to be addressed with our first pick. Then with our two picks in the second round, RB and WR. Only one offensive TD in 3 games?!?!?! Not acceptable...amazing this team managed 10 wins. I know, I'll get hammered for being negative, but it's just because I want this team to win...and it seems they are on the brink of being very good. Frustrating! |

Disagree. We need a cover LBer, S, and speed RB - probably in the first 2 rounds or FA. Gresham also needs to be replaced. Our O- line will get better with another year of experience. Samu coming back will be good. Sign a decent Vet FA WR.

If the best available at team needs are on offense then I agree. I would have no problem going S or LB if there were no offensive players better. Wouldn't mind picking up a solid number 2 WR or a complimentary back for BGE. But we can wait until later rounds to look at O-line or TE.

We need offense playmakers for sure but not if we have to reach. LBs cost us more today than stagnant offense did.

Gameplan and execution on offense killed us more than talent.

Our O Line is not real good at pass protection either. Boling/Cook were not that good today.

you WIN with the offensive line.
Bengals offensive line is AWFUL at pass protection. 85% of the fans think it's the playmakers. It's not. Give Dalton time and a DONKEY could get open.. New England wins year after year because of their ability to protect Brady.... |

Our top needs:
1. A playmaker on offense other than Green. A wide receiver like Keenen Allen or Justin Hunter. Hunter is like AJ Green lite. And Allen is a good, competitive receiver. I'd also look into a tight end like Zach Ertz. He is a playmaker and has really good route running skills. He will get open a lot in the NFL. And he seems to have soft hands too. 2. A Linebacker to pair with Burfict (move Burfict to middle or keep Burfict outside and get a ML .Alec Ogletree is a very instinctive and rangy Linebacker that would fit this role perfectly. 3. A fast running back. Giovani Bernard would be a great player to complement BJGE, who really came on as a tough in between the tackles runner. 4. A new center. Robinson is good, but he isn't extremely strong and can't handle massive tackles. Cook is garbage and can't block anyone. My ideal days 1 and 2 draft: 1. Justin Hunter WR Tennessee 2a. Alec Ogletree ILB Georgia 2b. Giovani Bernard RB UNC 3, Barrett Jones C Alabama If we are looking for an overpowering center for those big nose tackles, we could also look into a guard prospect to kick inside. Larry Warford of Kentucky would be an interesting option, as he is enormous. But he has never played center as far as I know. So it will be interesting to see what the Bengals do about the center position.

1. MJ is a priority to resign along with Andre Smith, we have critical holes that need filled and dont want to have to spend a draft pick on those 2 positions. I think Robinson will ne a very good center so I don't think we need to address it as bad as other areas.
1 Coverage LB, Taz to the middle and resign Howard. (TE kill us currently) 2 Best available safety, play maker. If Kirk is going to safety then best available CB. 2a Best available speed back I would hope we use free agency well enough to addresses some needs as well, could easily change my desires, but as of now those area 3 critical area that need addressed. |

Re: Offense with first 3 picks! Please!
Find an elite playmaker in the first round, snag some Oline/LB in the 2nd and third.
I think we could get Mike Jenkins out of dallas for the secondary |

I think we need to snag a Linebacker sometime in the first 3 picks, aside from that all offensive sounds right to me.
I'm a big proponent of better pass protection and a possession receiver.

Slow down and think about where we are with personnel. I love shiny new draft picks as much as the next guy, but we've got to know what we've already got in the stable.
Does Travelle Wharton come back healthy next season? Does Thomas Howard come back healthy? Burfict is an MLB. Sanu? We've GOT CAP SPACE to get MJ and Andre Smith re-signed if we want to. I'd prefer to keep those guys so we can re-build our true weaknesses instead of patching holes that we created ourselves by not keeping our talent. Of our first three picks, two will probably be on the offensive side of the ball where we were completely humiliated, embarrassed, dismissed, and flogged. Of those two offensive picks, one will probably be a "big ugly" and one will be a skill player (hate that term, but you know what I mean). I'm thinking big ugly first since overperforming big uglies (Geno Atkins) are rare after the 3rd round. We've also got money to spend in FA, so our draft picks needs will come after our FA acquisitions. |

You could spend another 1st round pick on a TE. But I like Dion Sims or Travis Kelce; one of which should be available in the 4th. There are no RBs worthy of a 1st round pick at this point. We can use another possession receiver (that along with a bad TE led to no intermediate game). Sanu is the only one we currently have. You can get a decent one 2nd round+ and the list is long: Keenan Allen Cordarrelle Patterson Justin Hunter Da'Rick Rogers Cobi Hamilton Aaron Dobson Aaron Mellette Rodney Smith Marcus Davis The 1st 3 guys would become the #2 WR. Everybody else would be fighting for the 4th or 5th slot. You could take another interior guy in the 1st, but that is a lot of investment for the line (I am in favor of it, but my opinion doesn't count)

Everyone is ignoring Safety. We can't go another season with Chris Crocker. He fortified the D when he was in, but he got hurt at a critical point. Taylor Mays doesn't have the football IQ to start. He has wonderful athleticism, but just is always missing plays.
Center is #2 priority. Why Marvin didn't put Robinson in there, for just a series to see if it made a difference is incredible to me. Then MLB, WR #2 and TE. But some of those can be addressed via FA.
