They are just fulfilling the mandate of the new Mike Brown Rule:
Each team must interview one incompetent candidate. |

That was the worst offensive game plan I have ever seen. Jay Gruden should be fired, but we all know Mike Brown is cheap and will never pay the man to sit at home.
Cue the we are not going to win a playoff game next year because of our offensive coordinator discussions. ![]()

Agree, he's not looking too solid as an OC. No where near ready to take on the responsibilities of an etire team, particularly one with a fan base as tough as the Eagles.

He was still up for the job when he scored 6 points against Pittsburgh.
He lives on his last name, not his performances.

I'm going to start this off by saying this. This will not be an emotional based thread that we see so many times. I've waited almost 18 hours to digest what I saw and form an opinion on it. Please dont make this a player/team/coach bashing session.I think most ALL of the offensive problems can be attributed to Jay Gruden. His inability to call back to back running plays killed the Bengals momentium. I know this team wants to be pass first, but it just blows my mind that they were doing so well in the run game and wouldn't stick with it. I know being behind dicated that you're going to throw the ball more, but we werent down by 20 pts and could still stick to the game plan. Also Jay callling three screen passes on the first four drives, ALL of which went for no gain or negative yards. Stats: -Dalton was sacked 3 times for -10 yards( Oneof those 3 was a "rush" for -1 yrds) -Rushing 16 carries 80 yards 5.0 ypc -If you add the 10 yards dalton loss on sacks thats 16 carries for 90 yards which is 5.6 ypc. -The Bengals ran back to back running plays TWICE the whole game, one time was a scramble by Dalton on a pass. The other was the 4th down conversion. Thats PATHETIC. -BJGE's worst carry of the day was a -1 yard draw. He went for 11 carries 63 yards, 5.7 ypc. Now all those things said drive ending and momentum stopping drops by Gresh hurt as well, but I think the play calling was at fault. I'm not saying fire the guy, hes done great stuff for us, but when you're doing something so well, and you WILL not make the effort to continue it I think someone has to take notice. I said it in another thread on here before the game, bottom line no matter what happend i'm proud of this team and happy for the successful season and look forward to the future! Here's to next year!!!!

Yes the schemes have been bad the last few games. Nothing done at all to defuse blitzes, not playing to our strengths and so forth.

The playcalling is a big part of why we lost. We were in the game up until the very end, which can be credited to our defense.
That said, this has been a problem for some time and shouldnt of been a shock to anyone paying attention unless they were hiding behind their Homer mask. 22nd ranked offenses look like what was on the field yesterday.

I have no clue why anyone would want to hire him as a HC, Our offense has been awful. We set a record for fewest passing yards in the 1st 1/2 of a playoff game.
