I don't think that will happen again after today. At one point he was throwing to Gresham because the coverage dictated it. By the fourth quarter I saw him trying to force it into other receivers despite an open Gresham, and I can't say I blame him for doing so.

Gresh and the linebackers were the reasons we lost. Not the coaching refs etc...

He exececuted a game plan based on Gresh in the middle. it is a weakeness of the Texans and Gresh effed it up.

Had he caight the two balls on the first drive iot would have pulled the Texans out of the cover two

Gresham had more drops than catches.

Gresh is the most frustrating player on the roster because he is such an athletic beast but the dude has so many bad moments in both the blocking game and the receiving game. He needs to be more consistent and more physical. Like he was in the chiefs game.

Give him a few more years, he'll come out of it, that's what everyone says about the red headed mistake.

Does anyone know how many drops and fumbles Gresh had this year?

I already know he's a bad blocker.

It's that same kind of timing that Dalton must develop with Gresham. Knowing the route and timing Gresham's moves.

I don't believe Dalton really had great timing with his receivers this year. He relied on the athleticism of his guys to go get the ball more then I'd like. That's not really a knock on him as without a real training camp he had to learn on the fly with these guys. It's very possible that we could see drastic changes next year with Gresham as the comfort level will be there with his QB.
I agree with all except the bolded. When he threw higher and let the receivers get it this year, they did. It seemed to be that the last half of the year they decided he could throw into all these tight windows and I don't think he is there yet.

Thanks for proving my point Storm. I can always count on you.
Mostly in garbage time when there was no pressure and it didn't matter. If he would get off of the weed he might actually be able to concentrate and make many of those catches. He is inconsistant when it matters and always has at least two drops a game. Keep your nonsense to yourself or those that believe it.
He stinks when it matters. Stats matter little when you're a continual loser with the same problems year after year.

Default Did Gresham Cost Us The Game?

I know that one player usually can't cost a team a game and this could have made no difference, especially since it was so early, but if Gresham doesn't drop that pass on third down on the opening drive, it's a whole new ballgame.

It puts together a decent drive after forcing a three-and-out by the Texans and we'd likely only need fifteen more yards to at least get a field goal, which demoralizes the home team. It also would have given the offense confidence and then also the defense because they know that the offense can capitalize when they give them good field position.

And then, at the end of the second half, it wasn't as easy as the first one, but he dropped another ball when we were already in Texans territory.

Two plays that could have set the momentum or changed the score.

That begs the question.............. did Gresham bet on the Texans?

And why didn't we use Charles at all?

Its a team loss but the game plan was obviously to make him the primary weapon and he didn't deliver. He was a big part of it.

He had a bad game. No denying that.

I'd say Dalton was more to blame.

As for Charles...they appear to use him to block because Gresham can't block either.

Of course...fans always blame the qb. Dalton can't run the routes to get open or catch the passes or pass block.

Gresham is possibly the 3rd best TE in Cincy; behind Charles and Kelce.

Do you think a QB or a TE is more integral in the outcomes of the games?

Do you think Andy Dalton played well yesterday?

Think before you reply, please.

No Houston was a better team. They ran the ball better got more pressure on the QB, out coached us.

it was a team loss. I put more of this loss on Dalton and Gruden.
if Gresham dropped a TD in the end zone in the 4th q. yes I can pin it on Gresham.
When one of my players drops a pass,as a rule I go right back to him to show him I have confidence in him and to build his confidence.
It looked like to me when Gresh dropped that pass,Dalton lost faith in him and didn't even bother looking his way the rest of the game.
c'mon, get real Gresham didn't cost us the game.

Dalton didn't play well...but when your game plan is for the TE to be your primary weapon and he drops numerous balls...its bad.

Really everything was bad...play calling included.
