Does anyone think Ryan Mallet would have been a better choice as I do?

Nope. He has an arm, but I don't think he'd be any better at making decisions. Plus he would be an absolute statue in the pocket.

At least Mallet could have hit green yesterday on the go route.

I'm not sure it could get any worse.
Dalton was ranked 25th by pro football focus. |

I think you're confusing a run-first QB with a mobile one. Dalton has his issues, but he IS mobile.

Peyton Manning is so mobile?

I don't think Mallet is the answer but it is clear as day that Dalton isn't the franchise QB many of you think or thought he was. I have always been skeptical of the guy and the 2 playoff games he has played in furthers my stance.
He is a mediocre system QB.......nothing more, nothing less.

Manning is mobile IN the pocket. He has great footwork and moves around very effectively. Dalton can scramble out of the pocket decently, as I have seen a lot this year. Mallet cannot do either from what I have seen.

Have you seen Mallet play in college?

We'll never know. Mallet was my choice last year. I thought he was by far and away the best passer in last years draft. Give that guy a pocket and he will slay you...and he's more mobile than most give him credit for. he moves well in the pocket.

But Dalton takes so many sacks because he just can't move in the pocket. You watch Andrew Luck and you see how to escape traffic and pass rushers bearing down. Dalton just takes the sack. He may run 1 yard forward before getting sacked, but he very rarely evades sacks.

I'll answer this after Mallet has actually played in a few meaningful games

Mallet would be tearing it up with us...especially having Aj Green...Brady isn't a mobile qb but he knows how to move in the pocket and knows when to get rid of the football. That is why Dalton struggles. He doesn't get rid of the football and has poor pocket awarness...Mallet doesn't need to be mobile, he would just need to get rid of the football and step up or move left or right in the pocket....I am no longer a Dalton fan after he smiled after throwing a pick.
Give a 2nd rounder for Ryan Mallet..& if that's not good enough give them Gresham too, because he will be off our team within the next 2 years or less. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OurYaWeYlQw Imagine this arm in our offense throwing an accurate deep ball to Green.

Agree Bray should have a very high ceiling would be a guy that need 2-3 years on the bench learning the NFL though.

Brown wanted Mallett. We'll never know what could have been.

This proves it - you've all gone so far off the deep end, you're falling off the planet.

Mallett always came off as a punk, he's one of the "Bro's" that seems to think he's God's gift to the world.
He doesn't seem to have the whole "professional demeanor" thing down very well. Granted, he's a very talented thrower, but so was Ryan Leaf... |

Bray has a ton of talent, but he's not as good as Mallet was. He makes poor decisions on the field. Struggles with many throws. I like him...but Mallet was a far superior QB coming out of college IMO. Both guys million dollar arms and 2 cent heads.

Patriots winning consistency will live on because Mallet is going to be just like Brady...I would offer the pats a 2nd rounder and give them Gresham for Mallet.
