Pre-draft moves:
- Re-sign: Gradkowski, Peerman, Hawkins, Andre, Gilberry, MJ, Sims, Skuta, Pacman, Newman, Huber, and one of the kickers - Sign a DE and #2 WR in free agency 1 - Alec Ogletree ILB Georgia Former safety converted into inside linebacker, so he definitely has the speed and athleticism that Rey is missing 2a - Barrett Jones OL Bama If Dalton is our guy, then we have to improve the O-line. Jones can play any position on the line, but i'd put him at center. 2b - Larry Warford OG Kentucky Many of you won't like me taking 2 O-linemen in the 2nd. But I don't think you can have enough depth on the O-line, especially in a "make or break" year for your QB. 3 - Baccari Rambo SS Georgia Allows us to let both Clements and Crocker walk. A talented safety. 4. Kenjon Barner, RB Oregon A complimentary back to BJGE. A ton of speed, and can be a returner too. 5. Michael Williams, TE Alabama A big, blocking TE. 6 - Tyrann Mathieu, CB LSU The talent level makes it worth taking a flyer late in the draft.

2a. I guess BPA, I still think that Robinson should be our guy. 2b. Not a fan. Remember Boling and Zietler have a combined age of 27. Don't give up on them just yet. And I don't want a second rounder to be just for depth. Either he's an immediate starter and upgrade to that position, or draft someone else, I don't think he's either, so no. 3. If he does indeed play SS, why the heck not? 4. Needs a good combine and pro day for me to get on board. 5. Good 6. Not a fan F.W.I your missing another 6th.

Did anyone else see the ESPN interview with Matheiu on last night?? Talked about his situation! Then at the very end, when they were showing LSU's stats, they said that Tyron was predicted in the 3rd or 4th round!!!!! hahaha I started laughing

2nd I really like Robinson but he's not our answer, good depth tho. Cook should be CUT. 3rd I like Travis Frederick C Wisc 6'4 338 a total beast, perfect for our division. Draft him 2a if needed. If Andre leaves draft Justin Pugh OT Syracuse in the 3rd. Last edited by pulses; 01-07-2013 at 01:07 PM. |

Yeah, Boling would become the backup.
Our starting O-line would be: Whitworth/Warford/Jones/Zeitler/Smith

Boling and Zeitler both graded as top 10 guards for most of the season. Then they hit "the rookie wall". Guard is not a need, and I don't think center is either. Yeah, Cook was off this year, but he came off an injury that cost him most of the year, and not all of the struggles the line had were his fault. And he was just signed to an extension. The staff loves him and he's not going anywhere.
The team has finally rid themselves of serial knuckleheads, why do so many want to draft another one?

The Bengals need a RB. A 2nd rounder would be clearly an upgrade.
The Bengals need a SS. A 2nd rounder would be clearly an upgrade. The Bengals need a LB. A 2nd rounder would be clearly an upgrade. The Bengals need a WR2. A 2nd rounder would be clearly an upgrade. The Bengals need another DE. A 2nd rounder would be clearly an upgrade. You can't do it all. You have to prioritize. Most believe that RB, SS, MIKE are obvious needs. Many believe that WR2, DE, WILL are secondary needs. |

I agree. I think the positions ranked in order of need are OLB, DE, SS/FS, RB, LB2.
Positions that are not priority, but could be upgraded; WR, C, CB, LG, TE.

We have a MIKE only if the Bengals move Burfict from WILL to MIKE. We can re-sign Howard to play WILL again and move Burfict to MIKE.
We still have no answer at SAM. Lawson is terrible. IMO we have a bigger need at SAM than WILL. |

You "covered" them with a 4th round safety and a 3rd round RB.
What are the odds that a 4th round safety will be able to be a starter? Pretty slim. And what happens, if one of the other 20 NFL teams sees the value in your coveted SS prior to our selection. Very, very risky. What about a 3rd round RB? Again, very, very risky. SS & RB are 2 of our biggest needs. In my view, they cannot wait as long as you suggest. |
