This short post is brilliant! There has to be someone out there with credible coaching experience who saw that pathetic excuse for an offensive effort against the Texans and thought, "Man! I could turn that offense into a beast!" One would think that an offense with Andy Dalton, AJ Green, BenJarvus Green-Ellis, Jermaine Gresham, Andrew Hawkins, and Andrew Whitworth on it could finish higher than 22nd, right?

Not a big loss at all if he leaves. I really don't care either way because a new system may set us back and the execution of the play calls was often horrible so Jay probably isn't as bad as he seemed. A couple good additions to the offense could make him look much better.

Who knows? A new OC from an actual, legitimate NFL offensive system may bring things like a WR coach who can teach our butterfingered TEs and WRs to CATCH THE BALL. They might actually install things like bubble screens, moving pockets, designed rollouts - all those simple yet effective things that help defuse pressure.

No legitimate offensive coordinator will put up with the offensive lines Paul Alexander produces. It takes great line play to produce a great offense.

A good OC may insist on a new OL coach true and that could be a sticking point. But one does wonder how much of the pass protection problem there is the players and how much the utter lack in our scheme of anything whatsoever to help them defuse pass rush pressure.

Default Poll: Do you hope Gruden stays or leaves?

There's been a lot of chat about this, so I want to see the numbers.

We all realize Mikey isn't going to fire or demote Gruden after signing him to an extension last offseason. He will interview for at least 2 head coaching vacancies (Cardinals and Eagles).

Simple question: Do you hope he stays, or do you hope he leaves?

Maybe Jay can get in there with one of those teams and hook us up with another sweet trade deal for Gresham the same way Hue hooked us up with Carson.

I hope he gets a head coaching job and leaves.

I wish Cleveland was interested.

They might be, because Chip Kelly just turned their loser butts down!

Schefter just reported that Chip Kelly will go back to Oregon next season. Looks like he played both the Browns and Eagles and didn't get the opportunity he wanted for the price and control he wanted.

More likely now that Gruden gets a shot with Philly.

I voted for him to leave. He did not build on the good things he did in his first year. I thought with an offseason to help prepare the results would improve, but that did not happen. Another thing I did not understand was Gruden openly stating he did not see a difference between Cook and Robinson at center, when I think everyone else in their right mind could.

I cant answer this because I hope he leaves but I cant think anyone would be dumb enough to let him become a head coach with a game like Saturday in his resume

having said that the Cardinals are still going to interview him, that should be a natural fit considering he already ignored a Top 5 WR with Green and how he has Fitzgerald to ignore there

I voted for Gruden to leave. I feel he reached his limit or Marvin was getting in the way. Either way need more creating play calling and open up the play book.

Answer this question then. Is it Gruden's fault or Andy's fault that AJ Green wasn't even targeted until the 3rd quarter?

You can't throw it to Aj every play of the game, but i do agree about not being targeted til the 3rd. Maybe Green was being triple teamed. After the game annoucers talked about Dalton missing guys wide open & Dalton being very hesitant.

If you triple team AJ then Hawkins Gresh or Jones would be wide open. Keep in mind they started Charles, starting 2 TEs basically meant they were going to double Watt all day and they didn't consistently until the 3rd.

As a poster stated above Gruden also failed to get the run game going. Benny was ripping huge chunks of yardage. That 30 yd run was beautiful, I thought to myself...wow if he was faster he could be breaking a few huge ones. I'm guessing that's because Houston didn't give us much time to work with but cmon, you gotta run the rock more than 11 times.

Guys had to be wide open & Andy never saw them because he eyes down where he's going to throw beforehand.

Green Ellis busted a 30 yarder on one, but then we struggled to run it for 2 yards at a time...We need a faster back, agreed.

Leaves. We need a OC that has some coconuts between his legs. we need a OC that can take Dalton by the ear and tell him what the heck is up when he makes a mistake downfield.
Gruden I felt put on kid gloves with Dalton.
I watched Schaub hit Casey on I think was a wheel route and was just shaking my head.
little things like irritate me as in "how come we can't run that play with Charles?
Gruden's 15 minutes is up in Cincy I hope.

I'd like to see what Hue could do with a vet number 2 receiver and a rb. Someone who can take advantage of all of our weapons. What happened to Peerman? O.Charles? Hawk? Whalen? Grudens inexperience in the league is showing, and we need someone who can gameplan and understand what it takes to produce a consistent offense. Every week. When plays aren't just randomly called to see if it would work, but called with purpose hopefully to set up future plays etc...
