Let's sign our own boys first.

I'd be in favor of signing Jennings. When he was healthy this year he played real well. Consistently beats man to man coverage, something Jones and Hawkins struggle with. Stop-gap until Sanu or Jones take the next step. We need depth at the WR position.

I got a great idea, lets get players whose teams don't want them to build an awesome team! Chances are if those two are free agents after the careers theyve had, there is a reason for it.

As for Urlacher, I think he will retire a Bear before going somewhere else.

Ill agree with that, wr is a position teams can load up on, I do worry about his cost however. Idk if Jennings would come cheap.

Allen and Mays aren't names I'd bring up for your defense here. Wharton spent a year on IR and doesn't fit the discussion here as he hasn't done anything for the team. Crocker is servicable but has been injured a lot. Newman, Clements, and Pacman have been amazing but we got them cheap. I don't think either of the two mentioned in this thread go anywhere without marquee pay. Other teams players who are wanting marquee money are generally bad ideas. Like I said before, I like Jennings and if hes cheap...sure, but I don't see it happening.

No, we aren't signing in big name FA's. We never have. Why would that change? |

That's all I'm implying. We aren't paying a ton in FA for a player. For the right player I'm okay with it, but unless they're cheap its usually not a good idea. I think FA should be quick fixes to holes rather than for raw talent additions, thoguh there are exceptions to all rules.

I actually wouldn't be against it if you can sign them at a decent price which would end up being the main problem.

Mike Wallace will be gone from the Steelers. I wouldn't mind picking him up.

Newman, Mays, Pacman and Brown deserve to be back. I like what I saw from Wharton and look forward to his return (he signed a 2 year deal I believe). Crocker played well but is getting old, Clements as well. GET rid of ALLEN NOW!

We have defensive leaders in the locker room and Zimmer is a fine coach. We don't need a MLB mentoring program

Don't know about Urlacher, his best days are certainly behind him now.
But, Daryl Smith is probably the best FA LB out there, that fits what the Bengals would be looking for. He's 30, is widely considered one of the best 4-3 OLBs in the game today. He would be the perfect player to bring in, while moving Vontaze to the middle. If Thomas Howard were to make a healthy comeback, a starting LB set of Howard, Burfict, and Smith would be impressive, indeed.

If you thought BengalSis was bad (Graham's Sister); then you want no part of Jenning's sister

Signing these guys could make us the odds on favorites to win Super Bowl XLIII.
