RGIII Might Not Be Able To Play Next Season

Robert Griffin III may have to wait a full season to take the field again. That's according to an orthopedic surgeon trained by Dr. James*Andrews, the renowned specialist who examined Griffin on Tuesday.

Michael Jablonski, a former team physician for the Orlando Magic, said he tells patients who have injuries similar to Griffin's to expect eight to 12 months to return to play, and more than that to feel as strong and stable as before the injury.

And, unfortunately, there is a chance Griffin, the Washington Redskins star rookie quarterback, may not regain the Olympic speed he has shown in his career so far.

After 2009 his ACL was pretty much 2 screws and a rubber-band.
I don't know if he will play next year (probably will).
But the Redskins will never have the guy they drafted again.

That's a shame, I don't think he should have played after the original incident occurred; you could watch him and see something was bad wrong. Hopefully, they can work their magic and he will be stronger than ever.

i know that joe webb isnt as good as cousins, thats why christian ponder should have played against the packers, bruise or not

Well thank GOD everything went well, looks like he will be ready for the upcoming season.

“Robert Griffin III had successful knee surgery early this morning. He had a direct repair of his LCL and a re-do of his previous ACL reconstruction,” the statement said. “We expect a full recovery and it is everybody’s hope and belief that due to Robert’s high motivation, he will be ready for the 2013 season.* The goal of his treatment is to give him the best opportunity for a long professional career.”

This is why you shouldn't put all your eggs in one basket for one draft pick. Hope for him personally he is ok, Robert seems like a great guy both on and off the field.

Maybe they will bring Tebow in on a two year deal lol. Make him look serviceable next season while RGIII recovers and then trade him for picks.

RG3 is an exciting player and seems like a great man (personally and professionally). So I hope he can return this coming year and play just as good as he was or even better. Shanahan should be canned for putting him in that situation, when your backup is decent like Cousins NEVER should you keep your star QB in the game.
