He certainly does....I like the scenario that is laid out on here a lot: Marv to GM, Zim to HC. That said, he ain't gonna just stand around and wait for his shot.

Screw this!
I'm not his buddy or family member. I couldn't care less what he "deserves".
I hope he gets turned down on every opportunity.

If he took the job, he'd likely take Hue Jackson with him as OC. We would also lose some of our free agents to him (like Michael Johnson, Thomas Howard, Terrence Newman).

Zimmer knows how to motivate the players, and we have a lot of them that need that (Burfict, Dunlap, etc.). If we lost Zim it may set our defense back substantially.

BTW, Rob Ryan is a clown and Lovie won't come here as a DC.

Because Bill Belichick, Forrest Gregg, and Paul Brown didn't do anything after coaching in Cleveland

You might be confusing Cleveland with us. The last coach out of Cincinnati to do anything after stopping here was Bill Walsh.

That is what I'm worried about.

Zimmer to Cleveland?

I think he is wise enough to avoid that team and is just throwing himself out there. Cleveland has had 5 HC during Marvin's tenure and Zimmer would be number 6 and probably tossed after a year like Shurmur... all aboard the revolving door that is the Browns coaching staff.

Why would Lovie not come here?
He and Marvin are good friends, I would think it would be ideal for him to come and take over a good D for a few years too rebuild his HC resume.

Still expect the Jungle to burn if something like this was ever to happen.

He doesn't have to give permission for a head coaching position interview.

Well there are more potential HC's right now than HCing spots... Many Head coaches after losing a job fall back to their coordinator position for a couple years before getting that next HCing spot. I mean how many people are looking to hire a HC that just got fired?

Kansas City scooped up Andy Reid pretty fast after he was fired.

Obviously, I'm rooting for him to get the job. I can't think of anyone I know in the league right now that deserves a shot more than Zim. He just has the right makeup.

Sure, I'd love for him to still be our DC, but this is the man's career.

Wouldn't mind Rob Ryan as DC.

WOULD mind Zim as Cleveland HC.

Seems like every year I ready about teams getting permission to speak with other teams OC/DC for head coaching positions all the time. I just thought out of respect the teams give permission as long as it's not a lateral move.

If he has to settle for a DC job, he'll go to Dallas

1st year HC for the Browns at 15 million?

Belichick makes a little more than half of that and is considered the best in the game.

That's a good point, Lovie's only problem has been his offense. I personally can't believe they fired a guy coming off a 10-6 season in a division with Green Bay and a surprising Vikings squad. The worst team was Detroit, and they had been decent the last few seasons. I think Chicago made a big mistake, we'll see.
