Does that mean Burfict moves to Mike? I think LB is a glaring need that needs to be addressed early, but the only middle backers worthy of an early pick imo are manti, alec and minter but some worry of minters coverage. I personally like minter but also dont wanna go another season losing to crossing routes to guys like Owen Daniels either. I love guys like Thomas, porter, and greene but all three are OLB's. Just curious and wanted to get others take on it...

I think it is a no brainer that we move Burfict to MLB. It's his natural position. I think they like Lemur. And Howard will probably be back considering he was our best LB two years ago. Wouldn't be surprised to see Lawson back to play SAM. I thought the Moch to LB experiment was over when he came back from suspension weighing 270lbs.

I could see us starting Howard, Burfict, and Lawson next year and having an improved LB corps.

Anything that has anything to do with bringing lawson back to start is utterly ridiculous, Howard is coming off an ACL injury and you don;t know he's going to come back as strong as he was before.

Their is a bunch of good LB's in this draft, you take advantage of it while you can when you have so many question marks going into the next season....that's a no brainer.

I disagree that there are a bunch of good LBs in this draft. Not many top notch options. And none of them are flawless.

A lot of people are down on Lawson. But he isn't completely useless. And we have nothing on the roster that is a better option at SAM. I agree Howard will be a big question mark coming off an injury. But it happened early in the year so he will have had a lot of time to get ready. Lemur could be ready to play as well.

I think we would be in way worse shape if we have no veteran options and are starting two rookie LBs next to Burfict with UDFA's as backups.

Burfict, Howard, Lawson, Lemur leaves room for us to upgrade the back end of our LB corps. Instead of trying to find two starters in a thin class.

It could be a toss up between Maualuga and Lawson whoever resigns plays SAM.

He had groin injury that he re-injured trying to come back early and played the last 2 games of the season, in 2011 he was a really good LB. I don't think he will be to expensive because of the fact he is 30 and did have an injury that had him missing time.

Look the guy had surgery in October and fought his way back to play the last 2 weeks in meaningless games. Also who is it that you believe is a quality starter at SLB in the draft or Free agency? The draft doesn't really have any standout SLB prospects imo and I think Smith is one of the top in free agency.

I'd take Hodges, Porter, Alonso, Brandon Sharpe all over Smith. We've got enough veterans on D we need some young talent injected. Not players on the other side of 30 who have had injury problems.

I wouldn't even mind Phillip Wheeler or Justin Durant.

The guy is one of the better 4-3 SLB's around and before last year he had only missed 3-5 games due to injury since 2004. All this while having 7 straight season of 100 tackles or more. I get wanting youth on a team but when you can bring in a talented veteran to fill the spot, especially in a weak SLB draft class then you do it.

Your talking about 3-5th round guys that were gonna have to depend on immediately, give me Smith short term and grab a rookie this year or next to learn behind him.

Also I like Durant and Wheeler also.

Lately we have been setting ourselves up pretty good to have no giant glaring holes going into the draft.

After free agency I think we will have a pretty good team. Everything we draft will be a bonus.

But Burfict's a machine playing in space where he has more room to free-lance and make plays, so what's the point in moving him from that position?

Te'o disappeared in the title game and we don't need another guy that's overhyped but can't deliver, so cross him off the list.

Maybe move Burfict to SAM and draft a MIKE because I love the youth and energy of this team.

This all depends on where Zimmer likes Burfict. I wouldn't have a problem leaving Burfict at WILL and continue his production while drafting a guy like Ogletree or Minter with one of our first two picks. However if the Zim wants Burfict in the middle, we could pick up Hodges or Thomas in rounds 2-3. Oh and what happened to Shayne Skov? He could be possibility in rounds 2-3.
