Have they won a playoff game yet, no, will they, yes they will. They progress they are making leads me to believe that they will win several very soon. This is a new franchise from what we are use to, the days of one decent season then 3 bad ones are gone, catch up as a fan base. End rant

The AJ and AD generation bengals are getting used to a winning culture, back to back playoffs is not a bad way to start their careers. Thats the perspective im taking anyway.
Not knowing how stuff REALLY goes down in the organization, at least Brown will be forced to spend more money this offseason if ive understood things correctly. I guess im a positive polly but i figure marvin lewis will have more leeway to address the teams needs than in the past? I have no idea where im going with this post, but maybe just maybe if marvin gets the tools he needs on offense, we can see a playoff run next year? |

With the cap room the Bengals have and the young roster, I hope MB does hire a GM who can set this team up for success for the next 6-8 years. We have a big window if we handle things the right way and spend money wisely.

Unfortunately, as in the past, the Steelers will come roaring back. I don't like the Steelers even a little bit, but they sure know how to build a winning team. Oh, if we could just learn how to do that...

Wouldn't that be so nice? This franchise is in a very good position, hopefully it can capitalize on it.

I am one that is totally against making a splash in FA for a #2 wideout. We have guys in house that will be able to fill the spot fine. Our in house guys are already familiar with the system and just needed time under their belt. Guys like Sanu and Jones will be able to fill the #2 receiver spot. AJ had 1350 some yards and like 11 touchdowns and you think he needs protection? At the end of the year it seemed like teams were able to get pressure on Dalton and that is what slowed production. also Dalton hurts himself with poor deep ball accuracy and being to conservative at times. The running game suffered late as well. Run the ball and protect the QB and receivers will get open.

Be nice to see the team go out and address the team's need at WR in free agency, as rookie WR's rarely have a lot of production. That said, I believe Hue Jackson is allowed to help out on offense this season, so he will get to help the WR's develop. I'm not saying Jones and Sanue will turn into Chad and TJ, but Hue is talented when it comes to WR's.
I also think it is nice to see those cap numbers as it will make it tougher for the Steelers to break back into the top 2 teams in the AFCN. If the Bengals re-sign all their top players and plus a hole or two in free agency, then they could make a push for taking the North next season. Right now many are suspect of the front office and coaching staff doing what needs to be done, and rightfully so.

The North should be theirs for the taking next season. Ravens and Steelers are getting old, can't keep their playmakers on the field due to injury.

With all of the Ravens and Steelers injuries...it was there for the taking this year.

True, but I think our young foundation will start reaping more benefits soon. I think Burfict is gonna be a beast next year too. Hopefully Zimmer doesn't leave.

Actually, he did post a 7-8 record as a starter in 2006. The Steelers were .500 that season, but one of the wins came when Charlie Batch QB'ed for Pitt when Ben was injured.
Age of key players and cap situation was one of the reasons why I thought we would overtake Baltimore and Pitt this season and win the division ... but hopefully I was just a year early with that prediction. |

While the previous CBA had a salary floor, the new CBA does not have one until 2013; at that time, each team will be required to spend a minimum of 88.8% of the cap in cash on player compensation,[8] and 90% in future years. Gotta spend money this year, Levittre from BUF is the only guy I would push hard for. Maybe Bush but I don't know. Focus on our guys. I want nothing to do with FA WR, big money not worth the product and just doesn't seem to work out for this team. |
