Tim Tebow not going to Jaguars now

Tim Tebow won't be playing for his hometown team.

The Jacksonville Jaguars made it clear Thursday that they have no plans to pursue the popular and polarizing quarterback.

Tebow likely will be available this offseason after a disappointing campaign with the New York Jets, who were unable to find a consistent role for the former Heisman Trophy winner.

Sources told ESPN last month that the Jets likely will release Tebow, a Jacksonville native who has been linked to the Jaguars on numerous occasions.

But new general manager David Caldwell nixed the idea of acquiring Tebow at his introductory news conference Thursday.

"I can't imagine a scenario in which he'll be a Jacksonville Jaguar -- even if he's released," Caldwell said.

I honestly don't see anywhere Tebow could end up.
A team would have to change their whole Offense and have a top D to even have a shot at winning.

Or simply being a Wildcat QB which is what he is.

Never have I enjoyed some much controversy in the NFL before over a sub par player like Tebow.

I like Tim Tebow, but I don't even see him having success in Canada as a qb.

The kid is a pretty awesome young man but he's a fullback.
Could probably be a very,very dangerous one if he were placed in the right system.

His squat numbers were off the chart at Florida. His qb contract and the fact that he doesn't want to play any position but QB would pose a problem but if he set his mind to playing FB in a dynamic offense he could probably be very good.
He's a big strong young man and he's probably bigger after this past season with the Jets.

i would love nothing more for Tebow to be our 2nd stringer. I heard there were rumors that we were gonna take him in the draft if he fell into the 3rd round. it may have been on here that i heard it.

He wants to play QB. But other teams teams want to use him for other positions like the Jets are doing. Really feel bad for a good guy like him!

The problem is his throwing motion. To long of a windup and the DBs I the pros (even in Canada) have time to react. He was only successful last year because the Broncos system was so different from the NFL norm. Had the Broncos kept Tebow and not signed Manning, they would be the second or third team drafting this year, because coaches would have had all offseason to scheme against him.
