I don't cover the bengals very much anymore because of Mike Brown he's to cheap dont try to win SB so yesterday was the first time i see it.

Am I the only one relieved this rumor didn't pan out? Wait, I know, I know. Believe me I know. Mike Brown and all that... Yeah. Thing is our drafts haven't been bad in a long time and in fact as of late have been REALLY GOOD when compared to other NFL teams with GM's. In fact the last few years we have drafted better than our division rivals.

The system we have is working good now and Duke Tobin continues to grow as a personnel guy every year. If they wanted to promote him that would be great but bringing in someone else who would no doubt shake up the entire front office and coaching staff could have the reverse effect, a return to the 90's.

I like our current set up as long as we can continue the great job we've been doing the last four years with the draft and keep our talent signed.

Agreed, but when you're this close to fitting all of the pieces of the puzzle together, 2-3 years is all you need.

Here's the thing you all to factor in...

We've made the playoffs 3 of the last 4 years and are a team on the rise (despite the one and outs the last two years). Pittsburgh and Baltimore are going to have to go through a serious rebuild and if you're a FA around the league looking at potential teams, Cinci has got to at least be in the conversation now.

We have not had a solid shut down Safety in a very long time. Imagine if you were a top free agent safety looking at the defences around the league, I've got to believe you're at least looking at Cinci and thinking "Hmm.. top defence, team on the rise, great DC..."

Personally, as I've said before, the Bengals really need to improve on 3rd down on both sides of the ball. An great to elite safety will definitely help that and a solid to great speedy running back can/will give defences fits if they have to defend against both (say) BJGE & RB.

If the Brown family is going to spend to the cap, keep our FAs and JUST pick up a great to elite safety... I'm happy. We're a much better and scarier team.

It's a well known fact after Marvin's extension he wanted more player personnel decision making. So we have 3 playoffs appearances in 4 years. A talented roster, Parcell said it best. If you want me to make the dinner let me buy the groceries. The coaches are getting their guys now...I have no complaints.


Plenty of teams have GM's and are worse off then we are.

You obviously don't follow them very well because Mike has made some serious strides, he's not a complete joke anymore really. Oh and the cheap part isn't true either, he has shown that he will open up the check book

Reggie Bush would be a huge add. He can do so many things that we are unable to do currently on offense. I actually prefer Chung from the Patriots. This is a good point. After all, this is how Terence Newman saw Cincinnati and it's why he came here. I would hope someone like Patrick Chung or Dashon Goldson might see themselves as potential stars in black and orange and, besides, it looks like a lot of fun playing in the same defensive backfield as Reggie Nelson.
