How many coaches are on a nfl coaching staff, 20? Off coord. Def. coord. etc. Head coach is supposed to over see everything. He calls the shots based on the input he gets from his coaches. Tomlin doesn't impress me. I'm sure there are a few others, but the one coach who appears to always be on top of things is Bill Belincheat. Assistants come and go and he keeps on winning.Just my 2 cents.

The Redskins game was a perfect example of how an elite QB can make a head coach look great or like a loser. First quarter Griffin played like a hall of fame QB. Then he hurt his knee and played liked an undrafted rookie QB.

They went from 14-0 lead to a 24-14 loss. In JN and in this forum, there would be cries to fire the head coach. In reality, it is great QB play that makes head coaches look so great. Show me a hall of fame QB and I will show you a great head coach:

Lebeau was a terrible HC. He went 2-14 with Jon Kitna, Corey Dillon, Chad Johnson, Peter Warrick, Takeo Spikes, Justin Smith and Brian Simmons, as well as an excellent o-line.
