Its like a Chess match... If you leave the TE in to block you invite another Defender to rush or your Receivers are outnumbered.
If you send him out they either have to pull someone probly a LBer to cover him (thats a mismatch in most cases) or hes open.
Its all in the past and no matter now But we arent exactly using charles much either. Which makes ZERO sense.
And for as much as people love to harp on Coffman for his blocking because of hard knocks (he had broken his foot in his last college gameand wasnt goona play that year until Utech and reggie went down) and was not 100% during hard knocks and was eventually IR'd to have his foot scoped.
But back to the point Coffman couldnt block but showed improvement every year.. But it Appears Gresham WONT block. and even though his overall yards increase the rest of his play suffered.

It seems to me over the years, that players that leave here or are cut, go on to other teams and do very well.Chase Coffman never panned out here for whatever reason. Our great # 84 is okay but not great, which he should be by now. I believe in most cases it is the lack of this coaching staff, name anyone of them, to realize a players strengths and develope that guy based on his strenghts.Mike Mccoy, newly hired Chargers coach said in his press interview, that he would put together a team based upon his players strengths, not try to make a guy conform to a type of play he is not good at.I believe the bengals have that problem. They seem to never put the right guys together based on their strengths.I am lost as to what they should do.
