I have no idea what I'm doing in college, and my current major is Sports Administration. I hope to be able to find some good internships (You wanna help, RC and Denny? *winkwink*) but I'm not sure if I'll be able to find a job in football as it's obviously very difficult. So, you all know me pretty well - What should I do with my life? If you don't know me, I'm pretty much awesome with psychology, writing, football, helping people and sociology :X

Google the 10 most needed professions in the US. Pick one that fits your personality, and go with it.

Still, why not talk to the coach and see about an internship?

Hard to get a meeting with Charlie Strong in there, or any L'ville coach for that matter. People are asking all day every day. Not saying I won't be trying, but it's a damn hard business to get into
I know that much about Biology

Just keep trying, and things open up eventually. That's how I got into Penn State.
However, I still haven't gotten paid for my games ![]() But definitely keep trying. It just takes awhile. And if anything within the college opens up, just jump all over it. Because it'll put you in the circle and you gain relationships with coaches and staff, and eventually they can put in a good word and such.

You may consider Communications, that way you have an inherent reason to want to interview those coaches. And...if that don't work...you could always decide to actually study, and take some math and science classes. ![]() Plenty of jobs that pay well with math and science as prerequisites.

Join the unwashed occupy masses. Why should you strive for a degree that matters...
Or simply buck up and ask others in the field. You're asking for advise from the worst source here. Have you see the threads born here? Talk to people currently in the field you're looking towards. Re-consider the employment opportunity, just as a self check. Consider the alternatives as to where your degree branches out to. Like myself. I am looking into becoming a physical therapist because I would like to help and work with the elderly. If I cannot get into a PT post grad school nearby, I will be forced to look into OT, recreational therapy, veterinary, or physician's assistant. Descending order obviously, but point being, you need to have a back up plan no matter what. Asking the boards for advice in your life is wrong. Being concerned is right.

Take a couple exams to become a Sql server DBA. You'll be making at least 120k in 5 years. They have jobs everywhere and recruiters are always chomping at the bit to place you.

Sports journalist.
Spend 4 or 5 years doing crap assignments and building relationships until you get one good enough that you can turn on them like a dog with rabies turns on a little league player, sell your source out and hit it big. Ride that for the next 5-10 years, develop a drug or alcohol problem. Then in 20 years from now or so, take what you learned about sports, alcoholism and journalism and write a book. Retire. Spend the book royalties on alcohol and hookers and child support, be forced to write a really limp sequel that bombs, but pays off the boob job for your college age girlfriend. Retire again.

http://www.sportspeople.com.au/?Page=2758 Some things I noticed; SA people do not make a lot of money. Despite having jobs that have a high salary range, the median is low. There are usually 2 reasons for this: 1. most of the jobs pay MUCH lower than the average with a few very high paying jobs. 2. Most people are not working within their major (think retail / restaurants). I do not see math listed in your happy section, BUT, double Majoring in Finance is a great idea. The Finance part will make you more desirable within the SA field. If for some reason the SA part did not work out, there is always a demand for Finance people within the same type of organizations that interest you. You can use that angle to back door it. In the mean time though, you have to beat the pavement and find out what it takes to get started. It might not be pretty, but your 1st couple of years might have to be somewhere that has trouble attracting people (think North Dakota) or a program that you never heard of (Wofford).
