There's actually 6 scenarios, 6 mocks...
Assumptions: -Howard starts at WILL, Burfict starts at SAM (except for Mock #4) -Sign a FA Guard (possible Safety) Consistencies- 4 - Ricky Wagner 5a - Michael Williams 5b(comp) - Sanders Commings 6a/b - Chris Thompson The first 3 mocks have Burfict playing SAM Mock #1: - Do nothing in the draft 1. Alec Ogletree - LB 2a. Giovanni Bernard - RB 2b. Baccari Rambo - SS 3. Brandon Jenkins - DE 4. Ricky Wagner - OT 5a. Michael Williams - TE 5b. Sanders Commings - CB 6a. Josh Broyce - WR 6b. Chris Thompson - RB/KR Mock #2: - Trade down about 6 spots(Texans)for a 3rd rounder 1. Alec Ogletree - LB 2a. Giovanni Bernard - RB 2b. Justin Hunter - WR 3a. Brandon Jenkins - DE 3b. Shawn Williams - SS 4. Ricky Wagner - OT 5a. Michael Williams - TE 5b. Sanders Commings - CB 6a. Chris Thompson - RB/KR 6b. Maalik Bomar - SAM All mocks beneath this statement have Ogletree with an early 2nd round grade by april. Minter jumped him. Mock #3: Ogletree in 2nd 1. Kenny Vaccaro - SS 2a. Alec Ogletree - LB 2b. Joesph Randle - RB 3. Brandon Jenkins - DE 4. Ricky Wagner - OT 5a. Michael Williams - TE 5b. Sanders Commings - CB 6a. Josh Broyce - WR 6b. Chris Thompson - RB/KR Mock #4: Move Burfict to MIKE 1. Kenny Vaccaro - SS 2a. Giovanni Bernard - RB 2b. Justin Hunter - WR 3. Gerald Hodges - SAM 4. Ricky Wagner - OT 5a. Michael Williams - TE 5b. Sanders Commings - CB 6a. Chris Thompson - RB/KR 6b. Maalik Bomar - OLB Mock #5: M.J. asks for Elite $, we let him walk (extremely unlikely) 1. Alex Okafor - DE 2a. Alec Ogletree - LB 2b. Joesph Randle - RB 3. Shawin Williams - SS 4. Ricky Wagner - OT 5a. Michael Williams - TE 5b. Sanders Commings - CB 6a. Josh Broyce - WR 6b. Chris Thompson - RB/KR Mock #6: Trade out of the 1st with KC or Jax and get a 2nd and 3rd and maybe a future pick 2a. Alec Ogletree - LB 2b. Giovanni Bernard - RB 2c. Justin Hunter - WR 3a. Baccari Rambo - SS 3b. Brandon Jenkins - DE 4. Ricky Wagner - OT 5a. Michael Williams - TE 5b. Sanders Commings - CB 6a. Chris Thompson - RB/KR 6b. Maalik Bomar - OLB I would hope Mocks #2, #4 and #6 could happen. But still depends on where we should draft Ogletree and where Burfict will play. I thought about putting a mock up about Andre leaving, but it wasn't pretty.

Alec Ogletree will be Keith Rivers 2.0. I'd take Jamie Collins before I touched him because he is a better all around player and more natural at the position.

The Keith after Hines Ward made him into road kill. That Keith. The one thats on the Renard Wilson worst picks in Bengaldom history. If he proves me to be wrong bring this thread back and I will eat a crow sandwhich. I like Hodges much better because he is a sound disiplined LB that you don't have to sell the house to get. He can be had in the 3-4 range and will be a stud as long as health permits. I like your mock w/ him.

I can't pedict injuries but I will say that he has a high bust probability like Vernon Gohlston. An athletic freak that got caught in traffic on running plays, couldn't fight off blockers, found ball carriers late and was a shadow of who you thought you seen at OSU. He isn't who you think he is once the tape is rolling and the hype machine is tuned out. There are just more fundementally sound LB's in the draft.

I like the theme of getting LBers. Olgetree is interesting. The guy has potential, how I hate that word, but needs to be coached up and don't forget the suspension for drug use. Is it a one time thing? Who knows, because of that I would be very hesitant drafting him.
The LBers I like are great cover guys. Gerald Hodges Jamie Collins Khaseem Greene I don't know how I feel about Burfict as a MLB. He seems to lack in coverage. It could be that he just doesn't have the skills, needs proper coaching or playing in a new position. I am also not impressed with this Safety class and the only 2 I like either could be picked up with our 2nd 2nd round pick. Tony Jefferson or Matt Elam in my opinion are what we need. I also think 3 is to high for Brandon Jenkins. Another potential guy coming off an injury. |

The biggest legit knock on Alec Ogletree is a lack of discipline on and off the field. Athletically this kid is a freak, but I don't know how many holes he has caused in the wall behind my TV (I throw the remote a lot) for late hits, unnecessary roughness, and utter stupidity. The talent is there and he could immediately upgrade this LB core at any of the three positions. I will say he has a tendency to make the play 5 yards deep rather than in the hole (the opposite of what was previously said). I think some of his DB days of letting the play come to him are a problem, but he hits hard and diagnosis plays well. He wasn't the signal caller for UGA and one of the other LBs might have to fill this role. Not saying he couldn't call the D but he isn't an intellectual player like Dahani he is a freak athlete who will make plays that will cause your jaw to drop. He also has an amazing nose for the football. all this said He doesn't lack the ability to play for Zimmer but he might lack the brain. I think how he interviews at the combine will be the biggest determining factor on where he is drafted.
