I have seen a lot of posters who like this guy and never really understood why. He had some good games but never seemed like he would be a possible elite guy. I was reading some scouting stuff and found this......

That is everyone's response for every RB they like that others don't. It's simple foster fell because he had fumble issues his last year and he started losing weight and getting slower basically a bunch of red flags came up between his second to last and last year at Tennesse. He fell from a projected 2nd rounder his junior year to UDFA.

I didn't say I didn't like Gillislee. I think he's a pretty good back but I do prefer some before him.

Pet peeve alert:
There are other positions to take other than "He's elite" or "I don't like him."

For the record: He's good. I'd like him in the third if possible. Not sure I've ever seen a person say he was 1st round material, which I'd consider the only way he'd be called "elite."

He's my favorite back in the draft for where you can probably get him. I've have us taking him in the 3rd in my mock. I like his elusivness and instincts. Like him catching passes out of the backfield. I especially like that he doesn't have much wear and tear. But probably the best thing about Gillislee and why I like him for the Bengals is that he's a dynamic back that is stout enough to hold up in pass pro.

Unselfish player. Willing blocker. Has underrated open field moves, but his best trait, to me, is that he accelerates nicely.

I like this statement, In the 3rd would be A OK in my book. I don't know if it is thier offense but he didn't catch the ball much. Here is some vids.

I liked him a lot before the Louisville game.....but after watching that game, it brought me back down to earth on the kid. I wouldn't be overly upset if we take him, but I think there are other backs that would be a better fit.

Yea but he only carried it 9 times. Only caught one ball. Just didnt seem very explosive or overly impressive. He didnt jump off the screen for me. But then again, their offense was brutal in that game.

Hahaha I know that.....all I am saying is, he wouldnt be my first choice. If Lacy is gone, I would rather go with Bernard, Taylor or Barner! If all of them are gone, then I would take Gillislee.

He's kind of small but I like him. Im a Gator fan so I tend to lean toward my Gators anyway. Im thinking he would compliment our running game, and work well opposite Hawkins in the slot if we needed to speed things up and make it interesting.

I am one who is pulling for MG. I also understand why others may not know why this kid has potential since he doesn't have much footage on his ability. But I assure you this kid could and probably blow up after combine unless something unexpectedly happens. (mentally or physically)

I also would like to share that I actually study movement. I'm a movement specialist with biomechanics background. So I watch plenty of footage on movement from athletes to dancers. I've always loved football and played in high school so I have followed the game for some time. The last 4 yrs I've really started following the draft and in this time I noticed that running backs where my thing. I could determine which back is most likely to succeed, be injured, how much weight or muscle they'd gain, and sometimes determine style. I say this also with humble thoughts b/c as we all know anything can happen and that there are many variables interfering with a players success.

I was able to watch 3 games this yr of MG and he caught my eye, as did Gio B did last year. I recorded 1 game and analyzed MG. IMHO he will do really well in NFL. Especially for the value he's currently at and for the bengals specific needs.

MG - Vision, cutting, power, patience, acceleration to hole, 2nd gear, passing, balance, low center, balanced muscle ratio between hams and quads, runs with his glutes and hams instead of quads. But I loved his edge and fearlessness which was displayed when blocking. I just think he'd be perfect for Cincy. This doesn't mean other backs are bad, just that I like MG overall. I'd be more than happy to go through some of the backs but I don't know if anyone cares and don't feel like writing a bunch of posts just to hear uneducated bile coming from other fans b/c they just want to B**ch.

I compare him with Lamar Miller since he did not start over Miller and would not have this year if Miller would have stayed. If he is picked before the 4th I will be surprised.

Thanks, I want to preface this saying that I'm not a scout and this is only my opinion. The reason I feel so confident about analyzing RB's, is due to the small success have had personally at determining which RB's will be successful in the NFL. When I say successful I'm not referring to "all time greatest" or best in the league that year. I'm only saying that according to a few findings and studying I've done I was able to determine which RB's would do good the 1st or 2nd yr. A lot of this has to do with the way the body is actually built, the RB's ability to "use" his body correctly, and their football IQ. Yes, some of this is common sense like football IQ and "style". But I've found that a RB's build (anatomy) and how well they command their body helps determine the amount of success in the NFL. I need to be clearer with the "command their body" statement. This is basically referring to "natural talent". For example Bo Jackson was naturally talented. He had incredible control over his body, which really means, it moves almost perfectly, the correct way it's supposed to, without hesitation. The muscles are equal in proportion, which is VERY important and necessary in order to reach your potential.

I'll cover a few RB's and try to point out some certain things. But I've only got some much time on my hands like anyone else. I'll shoot for Lacy, Randle, Gio, Barner, Ball, and Taylor. But I will need some type of film either it youtube or recorded games I have. If I don't have film I read up and try to give my opinion.

Miller went to Miami, MG went to Florida. You got the state right though.

A single game really means nothing. You have to make a judgement off of a body of work.

Look at the Florida State game a defense that had been very good and he went 23 for 140 and 2 TDs.

Against another good defense in LSU 34 for 146 and 2 TDs.

One could say that he appears to have his best days against the best teams.

You don't watch SEC football do you? Arian Foster dropped out of the draft for one reason... Injuries. He missed an entire year. He was shaping up to be a 2nd round pick or so.
