The guy's an insanely talented corner, but I dunno about breaking the bank for him when we have too many needs on offense. If our defence needed work id say yes (well it does but only really at linebacker), but the offence and our own FA's is where our money should go imo.

I don't want Revis because he's not the missing piece of the puzzle that this team needs to take the next step. We have some good young CB's that we need to stay healthy and see what they can do.....

The bottom line is he would make the defense significantly better.
The team can afford him, if he would agree to a 4 year, incentive laden deal. There just has to be some tough decisions. You would be able to pay for him by allowing MJ to go (and likely receiving a 3rd round pick in the following draft as compensation), releasing Clements and Allen. You could replace MJ with a draft pick and rotate that pick with Gilberry and maybe some snaps for Still at RDE. The arguement that he isn't that good or is coming off a serious injury is just fluff. His ego is a part of what makes him so good. Do I think it will happen? No. Would I love it to happen? Yes. What is more likely? Extend MJ, sign a veteran S, and build from the draft...which I am also fine with.

I'd almost rather have Cromartie than Revis. Simply because Revis will want $16m a year, Cromartie will want like $9-10.. and while I think Revis is clearly a better CB, I don't think he's $6-7m a year better. Plus I doubt the Jets will want a 1st and a 2nd for Cromartie.

Eric Ried, S 37. Jamar Taylor, CB 53. Travis Frederick, C 84. Jamie Collins, OLB 115. Montee Ball, RB Man... FA has really made me edit the crap out of my Wishlist/Draft... and not really for the better. |

If he wants a hundred million, then no.

No way this happens, BUT, you can't look through threads a single day without someone whining about J Joseph. We couldn't possibly sign the best corner in the world and eliminate all that crying, it somehow just wouldn't be right.

I would not, I just think the cap space needs to be focused on resigning current players and have flexibility to resign our guys in the coming years as well. I just dont see spending 20+ million on two CBs when the likes of Smith, MJ, Atkins, Green, Dalton, Gresham, and Dunlap need re-up'ed. Would I like Reevis in stripes? Sure.... just not at the cost of not resigning these current Bengals.

It'd be nice to beat the Jets for once when we play them next year. I'd be fine with dropping big cash on Revis. I wouldn't trade a huge draft pick for him, and certainly not Dre. Maybe a 2nd and a 5th OR Dre if we got a pick back.
