I've seen him play, for what it's worth. He seems decent, and I'm not really opposed to drafting him at all. Just not sure in the range that you and this Goodberry guy are stating. I've also seen Ogletree play and the two seem far apart in terms of game speed and talent, favoring the SEC project. Regardless, it's interesting to see a divergence in opinion on some prospects. I'm genuinely interested if he had a decisive Senior Bowl week. FWIW, I'm also not as high on Greene as others on this board, either--but still like the guy. EDIT: Re: Brown; Answered in another thread.

Re: If no Ogletree, who do you want?
Well idk out of those I think I'd like Kevin Minter the most, but I don't really want him. I'd still go with Te'o although there is some definite risk there among the scandal and bad performance.
Didn't they find out about the fake stuff before the NC game? Maybe he was nervous and preoccupied thinking about being found out and didn't focus or concentrate on the game that month leading up to it.

I would think about picking the best available DE or Corner. Players such as Okafor, Poyer, Trufant, and Jordan could all be possibilities at pick 37. A good RB like Bernard or Lacy will be strong possibilities here as well. The reason I wouldn't pick any of those guys you mentioned is because I think we can get a good pick at LB with our 2b pick or 3rd round pick. Greene or Brown one could easily be around with the 2b pick. Some possibilities in the 3rd round are Sean Porter and Jamie Collins. All four guys are talented players and no need to reach for one earlier than we need to.

I really like Brown as well. If I had to pick one of the three guys and no one is available then he is my favorite of the three.

I wish in that order.lol. Vaccaro seems to be moving up the boards like hes Eric Berry but as the process moves forward I hope he comes back to earth where he should be. I still say 15-25 but I seen a mock w/ the sqeelers drafting him and I don't want that to happen.

We're not taking a LB with any of our first three picks.

Ansah will go before we pick and if Ogletree is gone by the time we pick, the best option would be.....
Trade down farther in the first round and get more picks - might be a good time to take Elam or maybe even Lacy while gaining another second rounder OR third (not really sure, havent looked at the points). I really hope Ogletree is there when we pick at 21 though.....I will be perturbed if the frekin Bears take him. Ogletree is an athletic freak who has the speed and instincts to get sideline to sideline and bring someone down. Use him either as a MLB or OLB (looks like he might be best suited for the OLB position in the NFL).

I think hodges in the third is the much better pick than ogletree...gerald hodges can do the same thing alec can yet he is bigger, and can also rush. I hope we trade back get a third 2nd rounder and get hodges in the third...hes a better verion of ogltree.

I hope ogletree isnt there so we can trade back and stockpile picks...I think hodges is a better version of ogltree...hes bigger can also play all three LBS position, but in addition can rush. Forget Alec in the first trade back grab anoth 2nd pick up ansah or minter in the first and hodges in the third.

If I had to pick among the 3 I'd take Minter and leave VB on the outside and this coming from somebody that loves both VB and Greene. 1 person was responsible for shutting down Johnny Football this year and that was Minter. Last edited by bfine32; 01-28-2013 at 08:30 PM. |

No to Ogletree..I think we should look to free agency for an OLB.

I would not resign Maualuga and draft Minter. From there i might even double dip and draft Greene at 2B. Burfict, Minter, and Greene would be a nice second level behind the d-line. Resign the cheaper FA option Skuta, who can play the middle, and reserves are Lamur, Joiner, Maybin, and possibly Moch. It would be a complete overhaul, not resigning Lawson, Rey, and Howard.

I'd go with Minter from these options.

No Ogletree:
Here are a couple guys I wouldnt mind seeing in stripes in order of positonal need and values at #21. I just dont think there is any RB worth taking in round 1, and think that SS, Interior Oline, and LB are the positions that take precedence. Safeties Kenny Vaccaro Matt Elam Interrior O-Line Johnathon Cooper Travis Frederick Barrett Jones LB Jarvis Jones Khaseem Greene Arthur Brown DE Dion Jordan WR Cordarrelee Patterson Keenan Allen |

I can follow directions. Among Greene, Brown and Minter I'll take Minter. Rang has him rated significantly higher than the other two. Plus we can leave Burfict at Will, where he has demonstrated that he can play.
