That's not true. Joseph has said that if the Bengals had offered him as much money as the Texans he'd have stayed with the Bengals. But, the Texans offered more guaranteed money and the Bengals decided not to match. I can't read Zimmer's mind, but I believe he was upset that the team draw that line when it came to re-signing Joseph instead of paying whatever they had to to keep him.

So you're saying that JJOE went for the biggest payday. Which is what you were trying to dispute.

Exactly contract where the same Cash about just one had more gaurenteed. JJoe had told the bengals coaches he'd be back..

But when he left he said it wasnt about the money it was about the roster...

No ... the post I responded to said "J Joe didn't want to be here. Money didn't matter" ... which implies that JoJo did NOT go for the biggest payday. He just wanted out of Cinci so badly it didn't matter what any other team was willing to pay him.

I am disputing that: JoJo did want to be here, but money did matter and he went to the place offering him the higher paycheck. The fact that he left does not make it obvious that he did not want to stay ... you can want to stay some place, but still just decide that you can't pass up an offer of more money to be some place else.

Honestly MJ is worth decent DE money but not elite. If a team wants to heavily overpay him to get him from us, ill give my salute to the man because back in the day we didnt think hed be too good, and I just love how hes panned out. If ALL draft picks did what MJ did I would be extremely happy. Man came into the league raw and has turned into an irreplaceable part of our D...AND HE STAYS HEALTHY!!!

I believe Zim was upset because JJ had hinted to wanting to return and then jumped ship.

This was MJ's first year playing at the position and weight that he should continue to play at for the rest of his career. Imho his numbers are only going to get better and better going forward.
The indecision by the coaches on his position and need for an olb at the time slowed his production in the beggining.
His willingness to be flexable even though it was hurting his production, while being a team player just shows his team first mentality.
He likes the Brown family and they seem to like him so I have high hopes of a deal getting done....WhoDey

Sounds good from MJ. Would love to see him back in stripes. He's getting to his prime, and is getting better. I think he will do even better next year.

I'd give him a Ray Edwards type deal 6 years 30 million maybe more because he is younger. Some might be opposed to that but 5 million per year is cap friendly and MJ has gotten better every year and has been durable.

He came in as a project with no motor according to scouts and analyst and has turned into a consistent player.

Wow, in the middle of a thread about MJ expressing his wishes to remain a Bengal, where did that comment come from??

Personally, I think it speaks volumes about how far the organization has come in a few short years, when a promising, young, semi-star wants to remain with the team. That sort of integrity is what good teams are made of.

Im just reinforcing the fact the only way he remains here is if we franchise him. ive been saying this last 6 months ive been blasted and ridiculed over this. Just reinforcing my point. we should resign MJ and franchise Andre.
