Knowing this organization we wont franchise andre. so we will have to draft a T in round 1. So are their any decent late first round prospects?

We will sign him or franchise him. I think we are more likely to Franchise Andre then MJ because I think the price tag for a tackle is lower.

I'm in the boat, if Andre and MJ get to FA with neither signing, the tag is going on MJ and Andre walks. Andre strikes me as te type of guy that wants to play down south where it's warmer and close to home. I wouldntt be surprised if he ended up in the NFC South.
As to who we could get in the first at OT, there's some pretty slim pickins at 21. We would probably be looking at DJ Fluker or Lane Johnson. A very small chance we could look at Barrett Jones to be a RT.

The org has to spend money so either we sign or FT him or sign a replacment. Too bad they didn't pick up that 5th year option a couple years ago.
IMO we need to draft a T anyway, not in the first but one to develop. Xavier Nixon (FLA) and Rick Wagner (WIS) would be mid round guys to keep an eye on. |

If we don't re-sign Andre, it'll be because he doesn't want to be here. We have $55,100,000 in cap space, so there's no reason, financially, why he couldn't be re-signed.

That's a point I've made about free agents in the past and too many people fail to realize that these players can sometimes make decisions that aren't based solely on money. If a player doesn't want to be a Bengal, then there's nothing MB can do outside of tagging him to force him to stay.

Shows you don't really know or follow this organization outside of what ESPN tells you.

Early indications are that they will franchise him if a deal cannot be struck. Geno will also likely receive a generous extension.

He looked horrible at OT in Senior Bowl practices and the game.

At worst, franchise tag for Andre. He already was making close to the tag price anyway, so one more year won't hurt. No need to take an early first OT pick.
Plus, MB will offer good salary for a full-time player. Joseph has stated that the offer from the Bengals a couple years ago was very good, but that he left for other reasons. So unless Andre has other issues with the Bengals, he will be offered a good contract and will stay. |
