Let's not. You know what separated Ron Dayne in his draft class?

I don't think the Bengals will draft him (even though I like him) he's no Ron Dayne. Dayne never had the nimble feet, hands and pass pro that Bell has. Not to mention you could look at Dayne and see he was chubby, Bell is rock solid at 240.

I want to see all of the RB's at the combine side by side doing agility drills and 40 yard dashes. A guy like this can either shoot up boards or down based on his combine performance.

Bell carries the rock a lot, that's for sure. 382 carries last year. I don't think he projects as a second rounder though. More likely in the 3rd or 4th range.

Bell will likely be a nice addition to a team that already has it's backfield set, a luxury to use in specific situations. I like the idea of using him in as a FB, in a two back set. Not sure that I would pin my hopes on him being a successful feature back, as his stated time is 4.62, and his scouting report mentions that he is slow in lateral movement.

Those are pretty much my thoughts on him as well. Could be a good goal-line/short yardage guy, and might do well as a FB in a pass heavy offense.

In all seriousness though if we could get him in the later rounds to convert to fullback that would be awesome. He has power and some speed, plus he's got the size to be a lead blocker and the hands to catch out of the backfield.

I agree. Maybe he's Jerome Bettis, maybe he's Ron Dayne. If he brings his OLine with him, mybe I'll take him late.

If by some chance he runs under a 4.6 though he won't make it out of the 3rd.

I think him and Michael Bush coming out compare pretty favorably.

Who's that? Green-Ellis?

He's a good short yardage guy, but I wouldn't necessarily call him a receiving threat out of the backfield.

I'm not lobbying for the drafting of Bell by any means, just saying what I think he could offer a team that does draft him. Hell, he may wind up being the next Steven Jackson...

I like that comparison. I've been trying to think of somebody in the league that Bell could be used similarly as.

That's funny, since I'd say Bell compares more to Steven Jackson than he does to Chris Perry.
