I look at a guy like Mohammed Sanu and hope that he can become the player of a Anquan Boldin. Both receivers stand 6'2 weighing around 220 lbs. flacco had the same trust in Boldin as Dalton had with Sanu before is injury. Lets just hope Sanu can stay healthy next year and become the player we expect to see.

If he can stay healthy I believe he can become a very good receiver. Only time will tell.

We'd be very fortunate if he does turn into a Boldin type WR and hope he does. Boldin makes some of the toughest, contested catches I've seen...

That and I've read where Boldin considers himself a football player first, receiver 2nd. He's a complete player and tough as they come.

Just looked it up thinking bold in was like 6'4" but he's only 6'2". Wow. Definitely plays bigger than his size

Boldin is thicker than Sanu, yet he seemed to get injured every year when he was with the Cards.
On a side note, all of you saying that Sanu needs a year to adjust to the NFL should note what Boldin did his rookie season...101 receptions for 1377 yards and 8 tds. |

He, like many successful receivers, was a college qb I believe.

...I just assumed everyone in bengaldom would understand I meant last one before aj. Because it doesn't happen often. My bad. Point remains.

The problem with a Boldin WR is that they rarely work out. If you are slow, you better be the toughest guy out there

Re: Mohammed Sanu and Anquan Boldin
I love the signing of A.J.GREEN. He is one of our answers. However, I think he is very fraile and fragile for a wide receiver in the afcn.He better take excellent care of his body and think about getting stronger and bigger. He will not last a whole season if not. Also we need to probably go get mike wallace. He will not be resigned by the stoolers and we have the bucks to get him.Our receiver opposite aj would be solved.Marvin jones could back him up or come in with 3 receiver sets. Also with the money mike brown now has to spend, he should go after one of the cbs from the jets.Word has it both may be available and either one would be an instant upgrade for us.I am saying this,to get to the dance we need and must have these two guys or someone just like them.I want a superbowl win this coming season, nothing else will do and it is now time.no excuses.GET IT DONE NOW!!! To make the dance is the only thing to do.Every fan on here that has a voice should start right now letting this organization how we feel and what we expect to happen this year.Nothing else is acceptable.Start banging this home to everyone and do not let up all year.I want a SUPERBOWL WIN, EVEN IF IT IS IN STINKIN NEW YORK CRAPVILLE AND COLD AS CRAP IN FEB.

Technically, one for one qualifies as every, but you are truly pushing the boundaries of the definition. Not being real fair to the guy. If we're having the same conversation next year, then ya got something.

Boldin's TD catch last night lookded real similar to the play on Sanu's college highlight film where he split the coverage and jumped to the moon for the one handed catch. They are real similar in size, build and speed. Both rely on catching the contested throws. Hopefully Sanu can find the inner cockiness to produce close to Boldin.

Sanu reminds me more of TJ than Boldin.
What was TJ's forty time? How does it compare to Sanu's? |

Didn't Boldin run a 4.7?

But I think Sanu is faster in acceleration and game speed.
TJ just never had that explosiveness or ability to turn it into second gear that Sanu has. I also think Sanu is quicker and can also change directions better/faster than TJ. Sanu can also make acrobatic catches that TJ can't make (if he can, I never saw any). Overall, I basically think Sanu has some playmaking ability that TJ never had.

Re: Mohammed Sanu and Anquan Boldin
I'm sorry, but this thread cracks me up a little bit. Simply because there's some people talking about Sanu like how he plays, all his game strengths, and all his game weaknesses are already clearly obvious..... the guy played 9 games, and had 16 catches. Maybe for some people that's enough to tell me how explosive, athletic, acrobatic he is, how his hands are, how his routes are... and all this other information being put out there.
But for me, I just see a rookie who had 9 games, 16 catches for under 10 yards a catch. How is that enough to decide or know anything about the guy? To me it's like the people who said the Bengals should trade Gresham and let Orson Charles start because he's more athletic, runs better routes, so on, so forth..... after he had a whopping 8 catches for 101 yards in 16 games. I get it, Sanu caught 4 TDs in 9 games... but he finished with 16 catches, 154 yards as a third round pick. Then you say he got hurt... but then I say his 9 games translate to a full season of 28 catches, 274 yards, 7 TDs. Then you say "But he only started catching passes week 7-12..." which is a bit like cherry picking, but regardless I will say that even with cherry picking his productive games, that still only projects out to be a full season of 51 catches, 493 yards, 13 TDs.. which means even projecting the cherry picked games, it'd mean he was a good red zone WR, and pretty crap between the 20's. 9 games, 16 catches, 154 yards, 4 TDs is simply not enough to declare this guy Anquan Boldin (or anyone else good for that matter)... or ready to be the starting #2 and actually be a good one. At least that's my opinion on the matter. TDs aside, his 16/154 in 9 games is a vastly more similar pace to Andre Caldwell his rookie season than Anquan Boldin. (projected 28/274 vs 25/178).... which simply isn't getting it done as proper help to take all the attention off of AJ Green.
