I want AJ Green and Andy Dalton to say they love Cincinnati.

Now hear me out. They are very professional in interviews and say that they are in a good spot to compete being in Cincinnati but have they ever said they loved Cincinnati?

It's nice to hear them say they like being in Cincinnati but the reason i like players like Peko is because they are always sending love to the city and the fans. It also helps that he is a good player but seriously.

Maybe I am being crazy and irrational but if these guys actually want to stay here for a good extent of their careers (and I am sure we at least want AJ forever), shouldn't they love us?

I miss Ocho. At least he sweet talked us.

Who really LOVES cincy that wasnt born there? to be honest its an average city with a somewhat decent sports history(aka Reds history) I love cincy because i grew up with it. If i went to cincy for the first time at age 23-24 i wouldnt be unbelievably attracted to the city itself. However the team is a different story. Like michael johnson said i love when players say they love the team, want to play here and its just a big family.

i am in England and was in the merchant navy(marine) for 12 yrs and have been all over the world and many holidays( vacations ) as well and i can tell you CINCINNATI is my fav place in the world i would love to live in cincinnati, i was in hawaii last october and loved the place , met many bengals fans there saw the jags and redskins games live.

Sure, it might be nice to have one....but really, a GM is still working for Mike Brown. He has to do what Mike wants or he's fired.

A GM doesn't guarantee wins.

All hiring a GM would do is give you one more person to complain about.

I don't care if Dalton loves Cincinnati, because I'm not sold he's the answer. Green will be around for the next decade either way.

The reason i posted was because of my concern that when it comes to contract time AJ won't want to be here because he isn't invested in Cincy.

Also, i think i may have a priority problem. Wife asks about V-Day and i answer with Bengals.

No wonder she works late nights and has "meetings" on the weekends...

You're making too much out of it. If AJ wants to leave in free agency there's no stopping him. He's got two more years I'm sure getting him extended will be a priority next year.

We will try whatever we can to extend AJ we know the money he will command and have been preparing for it.

Worse case scenario we have AJ 4 more years 2 more on contract and 2 on Franchise Tag's.

And who's to say that they don't love the city? They've been here two years and have they ever really been asked about it or given the opportunity to say that they love it?

I've lived here my whole life, and, yes, I love it and it's an amazing place, but it's not exactly a Las Vegas or Miami type atmosphere.

As long as they don't hate the city and hate playing here, who gives a ****?

A GM has independant power.

Mike Brown doesn't run things anymore anyways.

A GM would be better able to bring in players, coaches, trainers, and handle things like contracts.

It's about love for the franchise and the organization, not the city, and this team has never really had a problem re-signing its own players.

AJ's not a diva so he won't do all that.

Plus, teams re-sign their free agents a year before their contracts are up so they have leverage to trade them if they don't re-sign or the media can also make them look like drama queens.
